up here in New england, i'd see a whole bunch of them up in Jay Maine at the paper mills. it was like thier terminal for crying out loud...lol
yeah them good old boys used to hate that nonsense leave the South head up to Maine and get stuck up there..lol or go up there to Rumford to the other paper Mill and sit there
when I had worked for a company, based in Richmond VA, I used to LOVE IT come winter. them thar good ole boys hated driving in snow, ice, ice fog, but we up here LOVED it, as it kept us rolling back and forth. of course, come the good weather, they were taking all our loads back up here, but they also had to deliver, since they had sleepers, we guys up here ran with day cabs. bit them in the rear end. cuz then, they had to dead head to pick up loads. our city drivers went and got us our loads.....lol and funny too, when we arrived in VA, we went into a motel for our 8 hours...their city drivers got our loads too....lol
That was a great laugh (gasping for air) MS carriers had a reputation and it could not be sullied by Swift.
I remember the day no more MS carriers coming down hill in Ironton saying here kitty kitty or... this case.. HERE HORSIE HORSIE HORSIE. *Smacks lips.. They hate that.
I worked for them for years. Loved that place. Treated good and made good money. Worked for them as a company driver and O/O. I left before Swift bought them. If I remember right Mike Starnes got a divorce and that led to the sell. As a company driver I was driving a flat floor Freightliner COE. Really nice as far as cab overs go.
