Good old Lamar Ave. Grew up near there.
Oh how I miss it. -
You’re not missing much,trust me.
Even though both Pilots have permanently closed along there the crime rate in the area has escalated over the past year and a half. -
Should prove the crime is it caused by truckstops.
Just looks weird there with truckstops tore down.
Though i worked in that area 6 years, i never stopped at either of those or the loves at lamar/american way.
I had a good hide spot at a grocery store with truck parking. -
The Flying J in Olive Branch would be a better choice.

WHAT??? its been yrs since I been up or down Lamar. But I couldn't imagine those pilots being closed down. There's alot of truck traffic on U.S. 78 (aka Lamar) so thats amazing that they are closed.

The State of Tennessee bought both Pilots and couple of other properties on that stretch. They’re preparing to rebuild/widen that part of US-78/Lamar Ave to bring it up to interstate standards now that US-78 transitions into I-22 in Mississippi heading towards Birmingham.
It’s been about a couple of years since they’ve bought up the properties but they’re still doing site cleanup and prepping. -

Now as far as getting fuel from a Pilot or Flying J,you’ll either have to go to Olive Branch in Mississippi or “go to the 2-1 for the real deal” at the Flying J or Pilot in West Memphis!!!
Sirscrapntruckalot Thanks this.
