8 hours in the sleeper berth extends your 14 hour clock. If you haven't burned your entire 11 hour clock but are bumping your 14, you can get driving time back by taking a split.

But they say above that Swift doesn't allow splits, so I guess it's a moot point.

Per company policy Swift doesn't allow split sleeper but their Qualcomms will still let you log it without it throwing a violation.

I did it a few times when I was there and never heard anything about it.

    Hick Thanks this.

That's funny because a lot of their preplans show picking up in 8-10 hours lol.

Probably not, or else we'd have an epidemic of trucks turning from the right hand lane ;)

    You know, Scottie said this;
For that one quote, especially seeing as he worked there, and claimed that's where he learned to use the inside lane, I am happy to forgive him for causing that thread to go 1,500 posts!

Currently in Cicero. Had an appointment at 6. It's 8:12 and they haven't even touched my trailer yet, or the guy before me..

Have 2 hours left on my 14 as of typing this. I have been here 3 hours off duty tho. Hopefully they'll let me sleep here or around the corner because if not...

I do have close to 5 hours left on my 11 and the load is only 4 hours away and isn't due until 10am tomorrow.

Oh yea I also made a wrong turn in Chicago of all places. Ended ho maneuvering my truck thru a residential neighborhood. Luckily didn't hit anything. Not even a curb or run into a low bridge

First off. Find out now if they'll let you park there while you still have two hrs.
If not, call the co and make them make the call.
And make them send their instructions over the qcom.
Then pic the instructions as they may magically disappear later.
I'd also go into the place and tell them that it's over two hrs since the appts and if they don't unload you immediately you will have to leave unless they provide parking.
And call the broker for detention pay.
You should call the broker when it gets two hrs past appt.

And if you stay there five more hours off duty, you'll get the five driving back and can make it to the del. by 530 am
But then you'll have the same set of problems tomorrow.
If they let you sit where you are 7 more hours, you'll have a full 10 in by 3am and can get to the shipper by 7.
It'd be best if they let you park there til 5am so you can get some sleep and not burn up tomorrow's clock.
    Now my head hurts.
