Your Bestpass should cover all tolls, the OS&D is normally only needed when you have freight damage or shortages...do a few Jennie O loads and you’ll get good practice.

Normally you call dispatch (even if it’s after hours) and get their guidance and yes you still take pics and fill out the report. Unless of course something’s changed since I left last April...

OS&D send the macro in with with product number and case count, whether or not Product was put back on truck.

The places we haul hazmat ftom are either live loads or the preloaded trailers are not sealed until you picked the load up and inspected it.

Best pass works on all electronic tolling roads.

Got to play the big shot winner today.
Load they got me to head out. From the landfill. 22 tons of newspaper. Everybody remembered me. Went in there for 7 years.
Trailer is at the LTL terminal now. Ain't in no hurry to head out looking for trouble to the east. Dispatch agreed. Leaving in the morning.

Interesting. I've never had that one before. Pretty cool you get to go in there when you know everyone though.

    Well, that sucks.

I had an appointment to pick up this morning at 10am in Jolliet IL. I drive 120 miles this morning through the storm to get there on time, they let me sit for 1 1/2 hours, then call me in and tell me they can’t load me because the load was meant for a dry van and the reefer trailer’s ceiling is slightly to short for the double stacked pallets they have. So I call after hours dispatch to let them know what’s going on, and now I’m sitting at a Pilot till Monday morning.

I guess I’ll try and get some laundry done. Hopefully I get layover pay for these 2 days.

In all actuality he should get some detention as well as layover. He was on time for his appointment and he was unable to load. I’d press for max detention and a layover day or settle for $200.

He will probably get some else’s load that could not make pick up because of weather, on Monday so he probably will reload that one.

Do you think Magnum would hire or train a well seasoned driver with ClassA tanker,haz-mat license but with all class B dump truck- straight truck/trailer local and regional experience?
I know a phone call to them next week would probably work also:) but I enjoy the networking and community this forum offers
