Don't know about the laundry but the diner is cool. Love the place, it's just down the road from my friends house so its one of my favorite parking holes.

Sitting road ranger in South Beloit. Got to Gaylord around noon for 1615 pick up. Load was already preloaded. Left grossing 79620 was 60 over on drives best i could do. left with it I'd burn that in fuel.
Ordy19 Thanks this. -
Really wishing i could join ANYONE on sweating a delivery date. So far I've been getting stupid long delivery times, detention time on virtually every appointment and short miles on long delivery times.
Since Dec 21st I've got: Fargo to Fort Worth, Dallas to London, KY, Lousiville, KY to Eagan, Mn, Lakevill , MN to Harrisburg, OH, Columbus, Ohio to Grand Forks, ND, from Grand Forks OH to Othello, WA.
Exactly one of which was over 1000 miles, EVERY one of which I've had detention time over. (2 hours over appointment time).
We're talking here 2000 miles per week or LESS. I am seriously not impressed, especially as I got detained for a level 2 today because the trailer plates are expired. The same trailer plates I went into saftey on Dec. 22. and was told I was golden.
I avoided a ticket based on the DOT inspector's good nature. My trailer plates that I ASKED ABOUT are expired and so is the paperwork THAT I REQUESTED on Dec 22.
Seriously not impressed. The miles aren't there. The office can't do their job. I was promised to be routed home immediately and it's 5 1/2-6 weeks before I get home, with no tools, not microwave or skillet or anything else.
I had a load that could have been loaded a day early and they reschduled it and I didn't get a call. $100 charge to the company when I showed up for my scheduled appointment because a dispatcher didn't do her #### job. Waste of my time for 20 hours, my compensation? minimal.
There are some serious problems here. IMO dispatch has more than they can cope with. The communicati9n with drivers is so minimal as to be non-existent unless there's a problem. You should NEVER be forced to leave a voicemail or deal with a dispatcher so busy that they "forget" to call you back on an important issure like load times.
I get the feeling that Magnum is a small company trying to make it into the big time with no concept of what it takes to make that move.
I like my magnum people. They are great folks and professionals for the most part. But they are expected to do 5 people's jobs.
Dispatch has been fine, but seriously, I feel like 30 seconds is a long call. Frankly, that's stupid. Because we build relationships with these people. They need to know whether we're dependable, know our stuff or need hands held. You simply can't do that in 30 seconds.
That leaves drivers, dispatch and CS in a guessing position. I can't believe that's a good thing for anyone involved.
Not trying to traash the company. I haven't quit, and I would if I thought it was the end of the world. But I've been very unimpressed so far. It feels like I'm with the well-meaning, JV team with everything they need to make it to the varsity but just missing something. As for me, if you can't make me consistently over 2000 miles a week, I'm looking for other work. Sorry, even crappy companies can do better than that. So make me thrilled to work for magnum. I'd love to be a company man. But since Dec 6, 2015, I've been nothing but UNimpressed.
Really pissed off, sitting AGAIN with a load that was SCHEDULED for a Thursday AM P/U with a Mon AM del for 1200 miles (2 days) where I CALLED and found out I can get a Sun delivery.
I can make 600+ miles a day, consistently, barring weather or truck issues. I'm lucky to get scheduled for 400.
That does not make me want to stay. -
Hey, can we plug our trucks into the inverters?
