A quick story, met a really nice couple in a beautiful Kenny Icon W900, brand new runnin for Mercer. I got to talking with them and found out they picked up the truck after getting rid of their brand new VNL780, turns out the engine blew on their truck with less than 20K on the clock. They ended up going round and round with Volvo and decided to just give the truck back and move onto something else.

Today's trucks are being built so fast and there's comstant pressure on supply chains to reduce costs - the result we get mass recalls. You can certainly go, but it could happen anywhere, even the new Western Star 5700XE's have some teething pains (though admittedly not with the DD15) so no brand is immune.

They will put you in a loner and you can get routed to Fargo for the swap, that way you can keep on runnin. I agree it sucks, but it's part of using a machine mistakes are made. At least here they'll keep you running instead of just having you sit for a week collecting chump change.

    Good luck and hang in...

Me too. All ready arranged it.

Think the dealers are going to be stuffed full of trucks that week and I'm sure their mechanics want the 4th off also. This looks to be a classic goat####.

90 miles one way to POS dealer. I am well past the point of giving a flying ####. As far as I am concerned, Peterbilt and Pacar can take their junk and shove it where their head is at. You know what engine maker is having far less issues, and can be installed in these trucks from the factory? Cummins. Yes, they have had some quality issues, but these Pacar pieces of #### have been trouble from day 1. So much so that there is a class action lawsuit, much like truck owners of Maxxforce, going after damages from excessive defects. Pacar knew there were issues before mass production, but proceeded anyway.

I'm sorry...EVERY time I get the slightest glimmer of the possibility of getting ahead, something comes along and knocks me further down than I was before. Try to feed a family on $700-$750 a week, for 6 ####ing months in a row. Magnum knew these engines had issues. I have spoken to a lot of drivers who said they have been problem engines all the way back to 2014...but yet they keep on buying them. Sounds to me like they simply don't care how much it screws people up, as long as they get their Benjamins at the end of the week.

Dude you act like this doesn't impact the company as well, the loss of productivity hurts everyone, why do you think we have a Freightliner on test? You were offered a loaner, you're the one whining about not wanting to take it so please turn your truck in and look for the next adventure.

You act like you're the only one getting screwed, been on the hook twice and missed 4 loads but still managed to not cry about it...in the end you are responsible for picking a company that works for your needs, and if you hate Petes why the F...drive for a fleet full of Petes? Me I'm not an International fan, so unless there's a lot of money with it guess which companies I won't be driving for.

And yeah if I were getting your checks after my 4 months and not seeing an improvement I'd leave to so I'm not trying to beat you up. It's time to move on for you we are never gonna be able to meet your needs and we should be careful hiring drivers from your area if we can't get them the miles they need.

Being positive actually, if after being here more than 4 months and moving to performance pay, if we can still only get him to $700 per week then he's right we've failed him and he should move on...

With regards to Pererbilt's well, we run Petes, sometimes they fail, time to build a bridge and get over that. It really makes no sense to drive at a company full of the brand of truck you hate the most...

Is this recall only affecting the 16 and 17 series petes?
