Forget which one I was at, similar thing though, went in to brush my tooth before bedtime, no paper towels at all in either dispenser. Came back in the morning to wash hands, still no paper towels, but the attendant was there and I told him about it, since they announce every fifteen minutes 24 hours a day for courtesy checks and all....
I've witnessed several times where there were overflowing toilets and the attendants used the driver's shower towels to soak up the effluent.
Original poster, I know bleach is cheap but have you considered Pine Sol or a cheap generic Pine Sol? I will be looking to come to your Pilot next time I'm in town.

I've never looked down on people that do jobs like these. I used to do a job like that. I always show some respect, say thank you, don't leave a huge mess, and leave a nice tip if the shower was clean. Most shower cleaning people are very friendly people, always offering extra towels I find. If they do that to get an extra buck out of me, it works, keep doing it.
The world would stop without trucks.
Imagine what would happen if showers weren't cleaned? -
No you will get a towel, constant hot water,a cheap annoying fan, keyless entry and horrid soap. If your lucky, You will land at a pilot with things flying inside for added visual stimuli. Don't worry you don't have to feed them they live on mold and mildew left by thousands of drivers,
This is are aforementioned Payback. You see allow me to explain , they know you can shop at the prison commissary down the street and pay much much less, so they throw in this fancy shower for added traffic.
This is all in addition to the "secret room" in which most pilots are cooking The hot ?deli snacks, Super cooker training imported from flying j agent's no chefs or gloves required in the "secret room".
Remember What happens in this "secret room" does not stay in said "secret room". -
One thing that I'm finding with truck stop showers is that nobody seems to clean the sink fixture, shower fixture or door handles. It's really nasty to go to turn the sink on, and find that someone has spit all over the fixture when they brushed their teeth, and it hasn't been wiped off. Norovirus is spread this way, Please, please please thoroughly clean and disinfect all of the handles in the shower rooms!

That's one reason I always carry a big pack of baby wipes.
