My local Volvo and Cummins dealers raised prices anywhere by 10-300% after New Year. That was fun today watching people in line getting a sticker shock. One guy was especially loud complaining about something he got a quote of $5000 back in December and now it's $8000.
Not sure about other manufacturers, but I would assume they will hike prices also.

It’s probably everywhere. My local Peterbilt dealer was stockpiling stuff in December, buying as much as they had room for before wholesale prices went up after the first.

I saw airlines for $359 the other day and was shocked. I bought a 32” piece of 5” exhaust pipe for under the truck and it was $272

Thermo King now wants $400 for a Tripac APU alternator, was 200 a year ago. They also want $150 or so for an inlet coolant temp sensor and something like $150 for a fuse in a weatherproof block.

I got the fuse/case on Amazon for $7.99, the coolant temp sensor for $45 online and the alternator for $200 online. The second two things are not knock-offs, they are TK parts, just not from TK.

Can't always beat em but it sure feels good when you do.

Yeah - I’m all about good relationships with parts dealers locally.

KW Joplin about ruined that -

Dumb as I was when I started, I had them get me the lock handles for the headache rack, 3 of them.

    $210.

I could have literally driven around the corner to Brunners and had them for $90.

If I’m up against the clock, I’ll pay for service and availability. If I have time, I’m shopping around.

Saltine crackers are now $4/box, so the old adage holds true, you want crackers? Pay the $4. As long as there is no control, and people are willing to pay, it's like a runaway train,To quote the immortal Jethro Tull. "
"Old Charlie stole the handle and the train he watched her go, with no way to slow down",,

I am surprised it took this long for it to really hit. Volvo guys I know have been saying it for awhile now and guess no one was believing it was gonna happen I guess.

I run Firestone tires and bought my last drive set 2.8 years ago, and paid $375 a tire. I still have a good amount of tread left, and my tire guy called me on Friday and told me he was trying to get rid of some of last years stock. He had Roadmasters for $525 (last years price) and he said he couldn't get any other brands in lowpro 24.5's as that is what I run. He further told me that if he had to buy Roadmaster this year the price would be $585. So I bought 8 at the $525 price. Tire prices are out of control as well.
