I'd say your Opinion is justified . And it only gets better once the warrantee is done, it's all on you. There is no good way out from under that pos........ Yard sale, scrap or give it back to the dealer that sold it to you.
Best of luck !

My 2012. Has been really good. no where near the problems as the 2011 gave me. I have been pulling 121,000 lbs. from Vegas to Reno and it does well.

Ok, that is another common problem that is usually associated with ABS lights too. Some ABS faults will also cut out the cruise as a safety measure. The wire harness that runs along the front of the truck, below the rad and under the windshield washer bottle likes to short out. That harness has your right front ABS wheel speed sensor, and brake modulator valve. It also has the power and ground wires for the washer fluid pump and level sensor. The ABS wires are all twisted, (this reduces radio interference). The peeks of the twists like to rub through on the loom, because the loom is too hard and just cuts right through the insulation. All the water from the road just floods and soaks that harness and the tiniest opening in the insulation between any two wires will cause a short. Really bad this time of year with the salt on the roads.

236,000 miles .relaced turbo, egr valve ,egr cooler, manifold and numerous other parts...2nd prostar Ive been stuck with...both have been problems from day one..we have 5 and 4 of them have all been total problems..computer issues, regen issues, egr issues...one of the worst and most poorly designed trucks Ive ever driven....spent many years in U model Macks and GMC Brigadeires...Prostar is a total joke in my book..up till prostar I spent 8 years in Columbias with Mercedes and loved them...supposed to get a Cascadia with a detroit in near future...I will be glad to get anything but a Prostar...

yea cc im in the spare 2005 columbia daycab with mercedes. jesus this thing gets up and goes from a stop like its on steriods compared to that maxx force lol. not to mention each gear slips right in without thinking about what your doing. makes driving almost fun again. a few other issues i had with my particular prostar was water leaking from the top windsheild and eventually dripping thru the cb radio vents. mirrors loose and shaked all over the place. windows rolled up an inch and had to keep pressing power window switch to raise it. the whole truck vibrates and shakes at all speeds. prolly from the drivetrain getting jammed up by drivers trying to shift it. mind of its own when shifting. one series of shifting goes smooth. do the exact same rpms, timing and everything the next time around and forget it, each gear was ugly shift. i dunno i hate everything from the seat to the steering tilt to the side window design. Im happy to be working but jesus they are days i rather work at home depot then deal with that truck all week.

A new issue has been popped up with the 13L maxxfarce's. The fuel pumps have been cracking and leaking. Some leak like a sprinkler. Mine wasn't leaking, but was on the list for a recall replacement, so they replaced it...now it's leaking. These trucks aren't worth the price it would bring as scrap metal
Along with the fuel pump, I've had the EGR valve replaced, the defective oil pan and gasket replaced, and now the POC is using coolant at the rate of 1/2 gallon per week. So I think the EGR cooler is going, and the ecm is saying the EGR is showing a low pressure again, so it may be going out again. -
I am sorry to say the recalls just keep coming! Pretty much all 2012 MF 11/13 have to have the egr valves replaced again, due to shaft failures. Somebody really needs to lose their job over this! I try to stand behind Int'l the best I can, but this is getting totally ridiculous now. Every month it seems your engines have to come in for some recall or another, and no matter what is it, it takes at least a day to do it! Int'l should be ashamed of themselves!!! Trust me, I feel your pain!!! Seriously, do you know how many times I have spend all day changing an EGR valve, then 5 weeks later we have to change it again because of new recall? Stupid!!! The fuel pump is another total joke. They know the top cap on the housings are cracking on most 2011 pumps, so they issued a recall on them. Honestly, that is Bosch, not Internationals problem. Now get this, some of the recall replacement pumps we are putting on are also part of the defective lot! So now they have to be changed AGAIN!!! I'm getting sick of this. The problem for us is the times warranty pays is a complete joke. Hard to make any money when we are only paid 3 hours for about 6 worked. The EGR coolers on 2010 models are acting like dpfs and plugging up at the cold end. They keep re-releasing updated calibrations, but I think the cooling fins inside the cold side of the cooler are just too close together, and no matter what, it is just a matter of time before they are plugged. International will not allow us to flush them, (the flushing procedure works really well btw), until they are 90% plugged. The ECM can calculate how plugged it is, so they need to see that, or they will not pay us. The interior has to come apart to remove the rear engine cover because you have to remove the egr valve in order to perform the flush. So get this... with all the egr valve recalls, doing an egr cooler flush at the same time is perfect since you already have the engine cover and egr valve off. International still won't pay even with the cooler 70% plugged! They actually expect you to come in, book your truck out of service for the day and have the egr valve done. Then 3 weeks later when your MIL lamp turns on due to EGR low flow detected, because the cooler is now 90% plugged, they want you to come back again for another day out of service to have it flushed. Dumb!!!

they fixed my window by pulling door cover off and sprayed the track at bottom. If you have a draft that comes in your door they duct tape up rubber mat on inside of door. They did mine and no more drafts.
