I am waiting for the time that I ask my DM about T-calling my own load just in case. I know that I will have to catch her at the right time, since she does have here moody times, and I mean moody. Will have to update this when I deliver this load that I am under. It is a strange one. Lets just say that T-call did not even have the paperwork for this. They were in Security.

Be safe out there. Right now, really enjoying this ride. So far, today, avg 7.8mpg

Well, I had to eat that negative settlement coming up on Tuesday. To make up for it, I got them to make a concession that I could bring my dog on the truck.

yeah Scottie, what are you talking about. I thought one of the perks of L/O, you can bring a pet. This brings up a question. Injun, does this stop you from getting certain loads. I have seen some shippers and receivers that say no pets allowed on property. I have even seen one that say that you have to leave your pet outside of the security gate before you enter.

It has not stopped me from picking up or dropping any load. I refuse to leave a purebred Basenji tied to a fence. He would chew himself off that leash within 30 seconds and run loose into the facility looking for me. When I ask whether the customer would rather he be crated inside my truck or running loose in their facility they inevitably allow him to remain in my truck.

If it comes to push and shove, I will refuse to pick up. If I was not notified before of the requirement, and didn't find out until I approached the gate, I will refuse to enter the plant. Thus far, I have had to crate him once...and draw the curtain so he can't be seen.

BASF is famous for not allowing pets. And anyone without a CDL.

    Hello Everyone,

Now that I have dropped that load, I can talk about it some. It was a special load out of CA that was going to the NJ State Police. It was a specially equipped trailer that is used for sting operations. It had no markings that said Swift, in fact, Swift does not even own the trailer anymore. There were some words on it, but I do not think that I can say, but they did make me feel a little uncomfortable. It was somewhat loaded, if you could call truck and trailer, total of 34k pounds loaded. Before I picked up the load, I had to have a meeting with Security in Phoenix going over everything. Before I left, they handed me a steering wheel lock, and made sure that my truck had a brake vavle cuff. I wasx told by dispatch there that this was a first for them, and also the T-call desk. I was not even allowed to stop at my home for 15mins to pick up some items that I needed to send IEL. Well, can stop at the house on this next one.

Well arrived today, and was sent a p-plan, and they wanted to me to run local. Run up northern NJ, pu trailer and then back to Seacaucus for another stop, then on to Carlise. Drop it there, then back to Philly to pu another trailer to take to Indy. Well, refused the first part, and accepted the 2nd one. It was supposed to be ldd at 1100 this morning, and here I set now, almost 1500, and the trailer is not even in a door yet. Still deliver anytime during the day on Weds. Glad that I am L/P now. The routing from Philly to Indy leaves something to be desired. Philly to Baltimore, then over 70 to 68 to 79 and back up to 70. The direvt route from here, str8 accross 76 to 70.

Well, at the end of the run, avg mph, 8.7. Like these lite lds, and thed fact, picked up a nice tail wind yesterday.

Everyone, take care and b safe.

Those MPG's can be deceiving. The truck will say 8's, the QC will say mid 7's and the ATBS statement will say mid 6's lol.

That was a pretty interesting load there. What is a brake valve cutoff?

Air cuff lock. It's a locking enclosure that fits over the knobs for your brakes. When you stop, pull both knobs out and place the cuff lock over the knobs. Turn the key and you'll need a sledge hammer to get it off.

I have one, but it will not work in this Prostar Eagle because the "wood" dash trim sits too far out. I used it in my Cascadia when I had loads that called for it.
