Having trouble getting loads from brokers. Every time I tried to book one they all mentioned it has to get approved by customer first. I give them a price but every time they call me back that the customer gave it to someone else. I understand this happens but if I’m going as low as I can and I’m still not getting the load how low are these carriers going to get it. Can’t believe this is what it has come to. Just a few weeks ago loads where at 4$ a mile

Did i read that correctly? You can get $4 per mile driving a refrigerated cargo in your truck? That's really awesome! So that's 1,000 miles weekly x 4 = $4,000.... $12,000 per month

It depends how many days a week you’re working. Usually 2,500 mi/week is the average. Shorter loads pay more per mile. But he’s correct - Dec 20 until about Jan 20 it was easy to get $4 a mile. We got few loads @ $8-10/mile on 600-800 miles.
I’m guessing a lot of drivers were off. Not me -

I don't know what 4.00 comes to. But at that number minus payroll and fuel the company is buying new tractors free and clear most likely.KB3MMX Thanks this. -

$4-5/mile is easier to find on 300-600 mile loads or even 1000-1200 miles going East. For example I can find $4000 IA or MN to PA/NJ but they pay crap on the way back, unless it’s a team load. Team loads usually pay more
