I just found out that the company I drive for (company driver) never registered my medical card in 2015. IVE BEEN DRIVING THIS WHOLE TIME!! The medical card doesn't expire till September 2017 and my license doesn't expire untill January 2018. At this time don't know when it did but my license has been downgraded to a C from A. I've been driving and holding a CDL for 16 years.

My question is, will I be able to get my CDL upgraded again without all the tests especially the driving test??? Or am I screwed can't get it back??

You have to self register. The company doesn't do it for you

So True! You alone are 100% responsible for getting your Med card put on your licence. Company has nothing to do with it.

Depending on how long its been, and your state, and particular dmv, a lapsed med certification can be a peice of paper, a peice of paper and a fee, or a whole new cdl exam.

Same thing happened to my co-driver who is also my wife. I was told at Wyoming Port of entry that my card was not registered in my home state, (Tx). Next home time I took care of it but wife didn't as she was convinced that carrier took care of it. She's stubborn like that. Sure enough, she soon received letter from TXDOT stating her cdl had been dropped to class c. She then went and boo- hooed at local DPS office and cdl was reinstated. Ultimately it's on driver to take care of. Don't forget that cdl is your livelihood and is your responsibility.

It's been preached over and over on this forum.

Take care your own business. It's your own responsibility. No one else's.

I can't believe how many naive drivers there are trusting others to do THEIR JOB.

Hell yeah, the moment I get my med cert, I scan it into my laptop and send that bad boy to Arizona DOT before I send a copy to my company. Then I check the website daily to make sure it changes. Then Screenshot that #### and save it and send it to my company. C Y m'fing A
