When are you going to join us on the road? Take the reefer gig and pay someone else to do your demolition/remodling. Give another man a job and yourself also.
As far as I know there's plenty of refrigerated freight that needs to be moved. And you are helping people doing it. Empty grocery shelves tends to grow fear.Vic Firth, MericanMade, G13Tomcat and 2 others Thank this. -
Lumper Humper and MericanMade Thank this.

Get yourself secured in an essential job like hauling refrigerated freight. We haven't seen the worst of it yet and there's a delay on bad news vs its impact on our economics. It's looking really bad.
A month ago I would have said no way it's not going to be as bad as the Great Depression. But today, I think it's a possibility. I pray I am wrong.
There are several things about this pandemic I underestimated. I sold a couple of my new positions, unfortunately, but I am holding one.
My brothers are seeing their perks go away and their hours slashed. My step dad is telling me our supply chains are broken.
Even if you got good savings maybe you should start driving, since you are obviously interested. Just start doing it and be well. You are helping yourself and everyone else.
Its worse than 2008.Last edited: Apr 9, 2020
Selva and MericanMade Thank this. -
When they dole out all this aid by printing money, your savings will be worth half.
TokyoJoe Thanks this. -
The demolition job and two kitchen remodels pay very well. I was too far into the demolition job when I got the word of the delay, so I'm just doing to finish it. I can still bale on the remodels because we haven't signed contracts yet, but one's like, we don't want anyone else; we want you. Repeat customer.
I was a little relieved, to tell the truth. I just ordered Lexan hurricane shutters for the house and workshop, and was worried I wasn't going to be able install them all before leaving for Melton. If I'm on the other side of the country when a hurricane like Ivan or Micheal is bearing down on the Gulf Coast, my wife and kids will have to do what I usually did. I need to make it easy for them.
I'm hopeful that we'll get back to work soon. I don't believe Pres. Trump will let the country sink into another Great Depression, having stated, rightly in my opinion, that the cure can't be worse than the illness. The country is already on the precipice of a civil war. A depression would cause much more harm than the virus in the form of widespread, massive social unrest, rioting, looting, arson, robberies, break-ins, beatings, murders, etc.
It's getting down right Orwellian out there. Neighbors snitching neighbors, cops pulling you over for no reason and interrogating you, police drones flying around herding and threatening people...it's almost as if...the public is being conditioned for something greater. I've heard no one call the corona virus an "existential threat" to the survival of our planet, but those in power are shutting down the western world's economies. But, what has been called an existential threat to the planet? And when will they act on this existential threat?
Thankfully, here in NW Florida, the local police chiefs and sheriffs said they would not be setting up road blocks, pulling people over, or otherwise harassing the citizenry. -

Chinatown Thanks this. -
Police barricades? Drones herding people? Gtfo. What supposed dystopian society is this happening in? Because it sure isn't happening anywhere I've been and I don't think anyone else here has seen any of that either.dwells40 and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -
MericanMade Thanks this.
