Yeah I understand. My thinking is I would have more ground to stand on if I was sitting at the customer Tuesday morning when I was calling the agent then I would if I was sitting on my couch. But it would be hard to motivate myself if I was already on my couch. LOL. I hope this works itself out for you man.
A load isn't sitting on a trailer that I'm paying for a for a week without me accepting to that prior to loading.. Whatever the load delivered id hire a forklift guy to unload me on the property day of original agreement.. I don't want to get paid a daily amount.. And the only way id even consider something that crazy is if I was home with the load but other than that nah... Smh
I'll sit on a load till Christmas if I'm being compensated a fair amount. Truck will burn no fuel and have no wear sitting still in a hotel parking lot/my drive way.
Man, looks like I'm not the only one in LA for awhile. Saw about 10 of our trucks on my way to take my shower this morning. I've decided to go get a hotel room for a few days a be a tourist this weekend
The million dollar question is what does the BOL say??? If they don't honor it then they have to either compensate each day after or THEY can pay for a forklift to unload it at their property. I'm sure it's a crane yard around there some where that they can pay you to deliver it there. Happened to me before as a company driver. The consignee had 12 trucks held up. We all dropped at a crane yard.
I seen several yesterday at the petro ,looked for that new 680 but didn't see it or you lol. Have fun
So i called the customer and asked him WHATS GOING ON. He says idk what your talking about. i told him 1130 last night i got a text from the first guy i called and he said u guys wont be there next week to unload me. He says we wont but i will make sure someone is there for you. We will find out tuesday i guess Its going to the service plaza on 44 the one at MM20.. its closed right now but i wonder if i can park there? lol
I'm at the Petro right now, got here about 3 or 4 yesterday, I'm on the row with my back to the interstate, but I'm about to head to my hotel and "secure" the truck so I can enjoy my weekend...legally and responsibly
