Mercer does not have enough van freight to do that.

Don't go to van. No loads to really keep you going especially with the low rates. I thought that I was way to old for deck but changing.

@Drifter42 if you want to really pull Van stay at Sni... That's where I came from.. The van rates here and there and darn near the same.. And you have more freight to choose from.. The freight lane is different here.. You know how the loads are down in Laredo. Well that's how all the loads are here. It's spot market so it's kind of luck of the draw.. You're gonna make the same money if not less over here pulling Van.. If you do come over do flatbed.. Don't let the new contract run you away.. It's not bad as the guys are making it out to be.. Per my old ICA

So is say 3500 a week realistic? Vans or flats? I live in so Cali. Don't really care where I go but would rather stay out west for the most part. Plan on staying out at least 2 weeks and home for a couple days. So cal to Texas would be ideal but not going to close myself off.

It depends on the ICA..I didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling when I talked to mine.

I wish I knew what the disconnect was between those of you van drivers that do well and those that don't. There has to be something being done different buy the two groups. I'm sure some of it has to do with the lanes being run, but that can't be it.

I'll bet there is a similar difference in the FB world. Just fewer of us on here to talk about it.

Either way, I wish everyone the best of luck. Hope you all find your rut and make some real $$$.

My personal opinion is no. I mean if you're interested in those kinds of miles go to a mega with lots of drop and hook. It's a different deal with freight here, not always gonna get empty and go pick up another load even with the most extended planning. There is much more downtime here than a mega or close. That said I can honestly say I've not met anyone here who is remotely interested on those kinds of miles either, not on a weekly gotta have it basis.
