WTH? If my coordinator booked my loads, I would be in the 50% range. I book 90% of my loads. Almost every bad load I have had came from one of my coordinators. I prefer being in the top 10% just like I'm sure @skateboardman likes the top1% of all flatbedders here.
I would urge everyone to learn some lanes and book their own freight.Truckin_Texas91411, kjoseph, duddie and 1 other person Thank this. -
I used to run things by my coordinator at first, while I learned our good areas and our bad, but not since getting a good feel for things. Now she calls me up every once in a while reminding me that the load I grabbed its going to a place it will be tough to get out of, and I gotta remind her that I get almost 10mpg bouncing empty so it won't cost much to get back to a good area. And she has never suggested I "ok it"with her first. quite the opposite, she stated in the beginning that her job was to help when I needed it, but it is my truck, and my business to run how I please. there was a big emphasis how final word is always on the truck owner.

I think today is the first time I've ever matched up #1 while in SoCal. Now to see if I can make good use of it. Lol

I grabbed $1.75 (I think?) to get out here from Ohio hauling less then 1k lbs because I needed to get back to renew my license. Been grabbing loads to see fam and friends in the 2-3.5 range. Heaviest load is 16k. I've seen several 2.5 to 3.25 heading back east so now that my number is up that's what I'll be looking for. But if I look at the board right this second I only see scraps at 1.7 or less.

Back in the old days, way before the contractor web. We would get like 30 trucks on the Ca. board. A load would come and the first 10 trucks would turn it down, just because they didn't want the load.
The next 10 trucks would turn it down, just because the first ten turned it down. (something must be wrong with the load, since the old hands turned it down)
So truck number 20-25 grabs the load cause he has got to run and turn some money. Load turns out to be a great load.
Congratulations on getting up to #1, It's a great feel good placeCJndaTruck Thanks this. -
Surprised I'm here already. I've grabbed some good loads when at #30 lol. I still have a few things to take care of out here getting ready for the new truck so I suppose some good loads will make it past #1
. But the vans seem to have more better paying loads out here. I guess that's why I say I have thought about going van more then once. LOL
Truckin_Texas91411 Thanks this.
