2 questions when they brought me coolant it's greenish with. 150,000 miles before it needs service. Should I just drain it and put my red stuff back in? The boil is 265℉.
I cut that bad part off the rubber hose. Should I just replace it?

I agree. Yes and yes.

I would replace the hose when possible. On the coolant, I have always used a quality coolant. But I have friends with 12-15 year old trucks with well over 1 million miles, no rebuild or problems. They have ran the cheap green stuff all there lives.
-
Make sure your green stuff has the additive or you will have to add it .
-
Welp...if they no longer are hiring on Quality trucks that should bring the waiting list for flatbed down a little
-
I'm sure it will. But it may take a few weeks to get everything sorted out. Like has been said on here, many will look for other ways in. But your wait should be less. Lol if you had asked me last night I might have considered swapping trailers with you. Vans pay better out here (don't get me wrong, I'm making ok $ but...).
Truckin_Texas91411 Thanks this. -
I can screenshot you some loads out of Indiana and you'll change that thought real quick lol..I usually get 1.70 into Cali then at the most 1.40 out back east

So if someone is in the top 10% of vans or flats and wants to switch fleets, I would bet that they will do much better then average. However, if they are in the bottom 50% and are making a move then I believe they are just bound for failure.
I'm in the top 10% here. I'm willing to bet I would do above average on the van side. Might make a hair less but I wouldn't be trying not to break my neck for hours tarping in the dark. The van guys I know make pretty much what I do. A few dollars off here and there. But real close. They wouldn't think about coming to flats because there is no need for them to.
Now I don't know your situation at all except that you are not happy with the money you are making and you believe that it is due to pulling a van. If I wasn't making the money I thought I should be making while other van drivers claim to be doing great. The first thing I would do is look in the mirror and ask what I need to do different. Then I would make changes in the way I was running my business. And for me that would not include changing fleets. But that's just me.Allan M, Truckin_Texas91411 and spyder7723 Thank this. -
Haven't been to ca in some time. No plans any time soon. Anyway I'm a dumb###. Bought the rubber hose problem? I bought to small one lol
