If a person wants to run their truck by them self, the coordinator should let them. But when things go bad don't blame anyone except the guy in the mirror.

The coordinator needs to know what you expect from him.

Exactly... This is big boy business.. I'm really not into the whole calling CR and switching guys but I think after that move I might have to... They want us courtesy call before we pick loads but u don't call when u decide to take me off of something because YOU think it's a bad area. Nah not gonna happen smh..

OK, I knew a guy that was leased to mawson&mawson when I was and he would haul pulp wood when they couldn't keep him busy. So I guess what I was really asking was if your leased to mercer you only haul for mercer?

@duddie I had a lot of problems with my coordinator my first 6 months here. We had it out a few times. I finally went to Louisville and talked to him in person and explained EXACTLY the way it was going to be. He had a bad habit of booking me on loads without asking me. It stopped once I talked to him in person.

My coordinator is a good guy! He always has my best interest in mind. Just today he told me to wait in Houston. He knows I'm not going to do that. I started to head home. I stopped for fuel & booked myself a load while he was at lunch. He wasn't thrilled but he knows I don't wait on him either. I know where I live & I know where the money is. I'm not going to "hope" magic happens. I do what I have to do.

I honestly think it would be a good idea to either have a talk with him or send him an email explaining exactly what it is you are going to do. Your truck, your bills, your life. Every now and then my coordinator questions me, I have the same response. When you make my truck payment you can run my truck, he laughs every single time....OK man, your truck your call.

I wanted to switch coordinators at 1 point as well. I think you should ride it out and lay the ground work for yours. Just my personal 2 cents in my experience here with my coordinator. At the end of the day, you HAVE to do what's best for you. I wish you the best with whichever direction you pick.

I agree, when I started my coordinator was initials C H. He is no longer there for whatever reason but I had to explain to him what I was looking for but like truckin Texas says, my truck my call.

Duddie, Try to work with your coordinator, you don't want to fire him before you try to work it out. You explain what you expect.

If you go thru a few coordinators, Mercer will think you are the problem not the coordinator.

I would think most coordinators would let you run as you want, if they understand they will not get the blame when you screw up.
