it is hard because you have to book one before you can see if you can book the others. like i have said that is my one complaint about mercers system.
i will say though it usually wprks out pretty good pre booking loads. because most the guys are looking for a lpad NOW it seems. so when you want a good load but it is four days from now the guys usually will beturning it down because its too far off to wait. the worst times i have had finding loads here is once you deliver and dont have another load booked. once you are sitting it seems to get a lot harder.rickybobby Thanks this. -
that was the one.nice.thing about schneider. i could be at home and book a load out tomorrow and a load straigt back home before i ever left. here you need to be willing to be out a little while longer.
what wasnt nice was the $1.20/mi average and the hand holding. i went there to do.local stuff by my house but after.one.year when they called me and told me to stop at the yard for anual recertification i went not know wtf it was. when i got there and they sent me.out for a frigging road test!!! that was the end for me. it was bad enough doing a road test to get hired.on.but i will be ###### if i.am doing one every year. i hadnt taken a road test for anyone in in many many years before them amd i didnt appreciate being sent out with some kid who had a cdl 6 months to jusdge my driving -
I try to pu/del in midwest metro areas. Just ping pong back and forth until the freight picks up in Spring. I'm also thinking about parking it until March. -
I was understanding it that you had to unload before you could book your next load?
-
No you do not have to be unloaded to book a load. You have to be unloaded to be on a waiting list for a load. If you're under a load, you will remain the last guy on the list. A lot of areas have no list, so you get the load. Or if your heading to an area and there's a load, that's a few days out, it goes down the list immediately, then's it's yours..
Once I'm under a load, I'm looking for the next load. There's been times, that I'll have 3 loads booked in advance. My coodinator like to keep on booking them. Myself, I don't like anymore than 2 at a time. You get very many booked and one goes bad, it creates problems for the other loads. -
i dont like to get too far out either. and i also tend to sit a bit between loads because i get nervous about booking my unloads and reloads too close together. if i know i.have an 8am unload i will book a 3 or 4 pm reload but i wont book a noon. i like to be positive i can make it. you never want to get empty and not have a reload if you can help it though. sometimes you just cant help it

i have said it before. i still dont know how it all works but it does seem to work
-
LOL. I have been following you guys. And it sure has me confused!!!
(Which isn't hard to do anyway)
