For how much you helped me in Louisville I'd definitely help organize yours with ya. I had some cheap labor though with the help of my friend son. I had to buy him dinner and pay him. Whats the world coming to lol.

That's why I asked if you've ever done OD because I can kinda tell you don't know what you're getting yourself into. OD looks good on paper but with each state having their own laws it could be a real pain. Then it's best to have your truck somewhat set up to pull OD like having Amber lights wired on the truck and also having a hard wire ran on the back of the trailer for a rotating Amber for it. I've been debating on throwing two lights on my truck and wiring the trailer but right now it just wouldn't justify.TruckerPete1990 Thanks this.

I think the real isn't necessarily taking a chance at it, but the hill to climb at the start, with the lease payment , tel payment, tags and equipment on a daily charge it approaches 7 grand a month at the start, if a guy hits the ground and doesn't go home till the tag and equip is paid off, he is in better position most do one of two things. Go home with first load or go to California. For the big hit off the bat, not the best movekjoseph Thanks this.

Yeah, I haven't done much OD myself. Have a 57' load I'm grabbing monday, still have to pick up some strobes for it. I thought about wiring some up before, but I don't run enough to have gotten them before.TaylorMade407 Thanks this.

Also it wouldn't hurt to spend 15 bucks at the truck stop and get a oversize bookTaylorMade407 Thanks this.

U
just splice in to tail light wire on back of trailer with a small push plug, and run amber that way, since you should have lights on anyway with OD, a man got to start somewhere. And OD isn't a huge mystery, its like the rest of open deck , common sense and carefulnessTaylorMade407 Thanks this. -
Gotta start somewhere lol ,we haul alot of 12 to 15 wide stuff as well as 90 ' stretch loads but if it don't pay well its really not worth the headache of permits ,curfews , cans and cannot ' s . JmoTaylorMade407 Thanks this.

I hate cutting into factory sealed wiring harnesses, even using heat shrinks it becomes a corrosion problem after a few years. so I ran a wire from the extra plug at the front of the trailer all the way back.Last edited: Sep 25, 2015

Mine too, that's why I don't haul em.... That and I get aggravated at the way every state has to be different and their routing makes shake my head regularly.Bucktrucker Thanks this.
