I just accepted a job with a Mercer contractor and choose a flat.
This company has 53' flats, 48' steps, 53' vans and Conestogas. Looking at the load board made my decision easy.

I have never paid any attention as to what brand the vans are, but the vast majority of their van freight is very cheap.

I woudl guess the brand would be Great Dane as they have a very good relationship with them. Though I didn't think they did lease purchase on Vans like they do on flats and steps.
Last I seen, van freight was running around $1.40 mile on average but you should call recruiting dept. and they will give you honest accruate answers. -
I know this is the slow time of the year for flats but with the new drivers you guys said y'all are getting in do you see a decrease in load availability???

There's been plenty of freight, in the eastern half of the country, but the majority of it hasn't been paying what we are used to.

Here at the yard, and heard from higher up, 43 new drivers last week and additional this week.
Where the freight? -
I just sent my APP in today...I almost feel like I shouldn't seeing as u guys are saying there isnt any freight...######!
