    Hey Man
Hang in there...I'm pulling for ya. I've seen van freight up and down the east coast. You may have to be willing to DH to the freight. I do. I drive 59 when I'm empty and y'all can laugh at me but, its time tested and approved. Yesterday I swore everyone was gonna run me off the road. I-30 East bound. TX to AR. What's it 70mph there? lmao. All of a sudden an MT Mercer driver past me real slow like lol .. I sped up to see how fast.. 62mph.. lol His 1st 3 numbers were the same as mine. So I turned on the CB to chat. good guy.
Have fun with it brother! I do!

Here is how it works. You are dispatched on a load from A to B, you look to see whats around B and there is a load going to C, you put your name on it, you are then given a number by the computer (your position for that load) if no one ahead of you accepts the load within a specified time frame it is yours, then onto C to D and so on and so forth. Everyone I know here does this.

The only problem with it in todays environment is the lack of decent paying freight, it can still be done, just not nearly as easy or offten as it used to be. I have not had anything lined up in advance (other than this week) for two months now. I have been getting empty and waiting a day to find anything decent.

Yea I've been booking ahead since I left the house however, They have been further apart than normal. I find myself deadheading a lot more. 498 this week coming up. I admit the past week has been a screw up on my part. I tried new stuff and it didn't work out well. Right when my load to Phoenix fell thru. I took a load from OK to TX. Huge waiting list I was #103 when I got an MT Container load from TX to Denver.. lol I learned right quick and in a hurry why I got it. So I DH to KS and got another container to TX and here I am. lol But I cleaned my truck, fixed the little stuff, and I got my cb antenna professionally installed because my truck hates cb's and now I'm in arkedelphia, AR waiting on Monday. I'm going to the sports bar tonight and drinking beer, playing darts, and eating BBQ. I by choice took this load and sat for 3 days. Because it took me back to my lanes that I like. And it worked out in my opinion. I'm still happy happy happy! With My Truck Dynasty! lol

It's easy to book loads out in advance when you know where you are going to be in 2+ working days out because the drivers in that new area, are wanting loads for today not 2+ days out. Once the load comes on the board (even if it for a month out) every coodinator/driver has to pass or accept or time out.
Problem latley is low paying freight and not as many loads a week out.

kmx7022, as i said back about page 107 and 108 i dont think they do a good job of exlaining this in orientation.

from a previous post ihad 4 loads booked up to this friday where i would unload in garden city,ga . wed i booked a load for monday from toomsboro,ga to mobile,al 4' tarp 2.30 a mile on 390 miles with 6o miles d/h from my house delivers the 22d, thurs i booked a load from camp shelby, ms that picks up the 22d 1.98 mile 10,000 lb 1100 miles ,90 miles d/h to it, delevers the 24th thurs

about 30 minutes later i saw a baltimore md to murfreesboro, tn 127 mile d/h $2.04 4' tarp loads fri delivers on monday the 28th

then still on thurs day morning . i booked a guthrie,ky to panama city, fl thats picks up mon delivers tues 80 mile d/h 45,000 2.14 a miles

i booked all that in a hours time on thursday morning that covers me til tuesday the 29th, this monday the 21st i will begin looking for the next one for tues 29th after unloading.

what i will look for is a decent load that meets my goal for money, going to a decent reload area. i wont book til that happens, but when it does i pull the trigger. these last 4 loads i pre booked i was #23,# 18, # 10, and #5 and i got them all. and keep in mind they paid 2.30, 1.98,2.04, 2.14 a mile, d/h of 60,90,127, and 80 miles and 2 tarps jobs and many drivers ahead of me turned them down

the fort dix load was one humvee and 17 guys in front of me passed on it.

go back to page 108 and read my post #1071 it explains it better.

is your coordinator telling you cant or are you not doing the will commit on the load board?

flatbed 22 seems to be working the system like i do.

Im finding out part of my problem is my cordinater after sitting with other mercer guys here and there and seeing how this is suppose to work mine isnt making this work. he doesnt look past the load thats on the trailer and i cant have my face stuck to this phone 24/7 you know somebodys gotta drive the truck. then i find out he takes it upon himself to refuse loads that i would do rather than sit. i asked to switch to someone else but that was 4 days ago and never heard back from contractor relations
