Put it to ya this way sat somewhere for seven days and every load i found he would talk me out of. well any load to get moving would be better than sitting that long and i know there were loads that would have ben givin to me because i was with guys that unloaded two days after me. they guy calls me with notjin unless im callin him i dont hear from him.i finally went around him and called an agent by me and took a load so needless to say still not impressed with this place and when you call to address the problem no one gets back to you? wtf

Be sure to have your issues backed up with some sort of documentation as to time, date, load ect. I changed coordinators years ago but when I did I had ammo to justify my reasons.

KMX : Talk to your coodinator, Tell him to be more aggressive, Tell him to start calling you more often on loads to keep you moving. Let him know that he's not keeping you moving as much as you like. He will probably say those loads were to bad areas. But tell him to call more often because you want more miles.
I'm sure Contractor relations would want you to talk to your coodinator first.
By the way, who is your coodinator?
Coodinators right now seem to be having a hard time, because they have a lot of drivers sitting in areas that are not normally bad, but this week seems to be alot of bad areas.rockyroad74 Thanks this. -
All they have to do is look at the way im dispatched and my revenue it sucks.if im gonna sit ill sit at home i came here to work not hang out in truck stops and again will tarp dont care about the cold or the snow and so on. so its not a case of me being picky

Sorry to hear that. I know Mercer is going through a lot of growing pains right now. I'm sure it's going to get better, just now sure how soon. Probably in March.
I've been hear a while, and I've been doing more sitting than I've ever have also. But I'm sticking in there till it gets better. I know that's probably easier for me than most. -
Im not one for moving around this is the first sign on deal ive done in 20 years i left my authority go to make things easier and my numbers started in a 311 so i did that for a long time i got sick of dealing with brokers and chasing money and im sure you know what i mean but man i dont know if this was a good move maybe like ya said we ll see what happens in the spring

Hey, Kmx do you have a computer? Are you watching the load boards or just waiting on the coordinator to find you loads? You should have a laptop and it should always be on. I think this would help you out. You can see the board better on a computer , rather a smart phone. You can study the freight areas so when your coordinator calls you can be quick on making a decision. I'm not with Mercer, I used to be with SNI on there Choice program. I ran into a lot of drivers that was using smart phones and they had problems with booking loads. You cannot pull up two pages on a smart phone, but with a computer you can. Study the load board!! just my .02

and if you yourself decide you want a load tell your coordinator to zip it, and take the load.
i understand completely your issue with a cooordinator, although from a different approach somewhat, my first coordinator we hit it off from day 1, it worked great , he knew all his guys by voice when ya called, after a year they moved him to elsewhere in louisville , the next one took about a month to get it going , had her for about 8 months and she disappeared, had lunch with her , next day shes gone. fired or quit no one will say.
i often wondered why some guys complained about coordinators, then i got the one i got now. LOL i can't say she is awful or bad or anything like that . but after almost 5 months , i still have to give my truck number and name. i have to do preferences and am back to beating the bushes for most of my loads. although it is gettin much much better, it has been a process getting this gal trained. dont get me wrong, she is pleasant and never grumpy but just hasnt meshed as quickly as the others.
i know this may sound odd to some, but since here you basically deal with the same person all the time, a bad relationship with your coordinator can be like being in a bad marriage. it takes a while to build the relationship and get to working together, a little give and take . and when ya have one that isnt working or is bad , life can be miserable.
and sometimes a coordinator that everyone else likes , just wont work for you . so kmx7022 , i would say , have something to back up what you are saying, and call til someone calls you back. and if ya need a switch , keep asking for it, but dont get upset, stay calm and collected.
but above all, whether you pick the right load or not, its your final choice, your are the captain of the ship. again, i want you to know i am not on your case at all, just trying to help find a way for it to work for you.
and if ya dont mind, when you sat for 7 days can you remember some of the loads you were talked out of? might help to see if your coord gave good advice or not. and i am going to send you a pmLast edited: Jan 20, 2013
