It used to be sooo easy. The main building, one lot and recruiting was in the trailer.

Nothing but really cheap freight in Montana. Check different areas for a reload to see how far your dead head will be, and make the decision if it will be a profitable run. No different than me running to nd or co. Just a farther dh.
Edit to add: you do know that western Canada does not recognize a spread axle. They treat it as a single axle trailer, so only 20k lbs back there.Last edited: Nov 17, 2015

Looking for some advice...
I'm thinking about coming to Mercer. I'm a company driver hauling construction material on a 48' spread axle out of Pittsburgh, PA area. I drive regional usually within a 400 mile radius of Pittsburgh. If I buy or lease a truck and sign on is it reasonable to make 5k/wk(before expenses) and make it home weekly? I work hard and I love money so I can't say if I'd pass up $3/mile to go home some weeks... but I talk to many o/o's(Mercer, Landstar, and Universal) daily and most of them tell me there is plenty of money to be made in my area. I need 800 for my fixed at home bills, but the idea of adding a truck/lease payment is intimidating to say the least. I'm waiting until spring for FB freight to pick up before doing anything, I figure I will have around 10k to start but don't wanna put that all on a down payment and have no running capital... thinking of Quality until I get more in the bank then go to Lone Mountain or the bank. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks -
I must have missed the map.... I'm glad someone asked because I'm on my way there right after turkey day.
You may want to read back a few pages. Or better yet call recruiting. But I believe someone just said that they put a freeze on Quality trucks.
