Today I sent my bills in thru trippak app. on my Iphone and it worked well. I was little surprised.
And I do not print my logs every day. Not sure why one would want to. I usually wait till I get the 10 day notice on the load board and then send in 10 days at a time. I'm looking forward, to when we can just send them in thru eclipse like other companies already do.

*Question 27: Would a driver who prepares his/her log on a computer, 'digitally' signs the log, and then transmits it directly to the carrier, be in compliance with 49 CFR §395.8(f)(2)?
Guidance: No. The driver's activities must be recorded in accordance with the provisions of §395.8(f)(2). This section requires that all entries relating to driver's duty status must be legible and in the driver's own handwriting.
*Question 28: May a driver use a computer to generate his or her record of duty status (log book) and then manually sign the computer printouts in lieu of handwritten logs?
Guidance: A driver may use a computer to generate the graph grid and entries for the record of duty status or log books, provided the computer-generated output includes the minimum information required by §395.8 and is formatted in accordance with the rules. In addition, the driver must:

Print the record of duty status at the end of each 24-hour period, and sign it in his or her handwriting to certify that all entries required by this section are true and correct.

Maintain a copy of printed and signed records of duty status for the previous 7 consecutive days and make it available for inspection at the request of an enforcement officer.

You can purchase through eclipse log software company a digital signature that is legal.
AutoCar your trying to read between the lines. It does not state you can not use a digital signature. The government has been using them for quite some time.
Maybe you do not realize what a digital signature is. Where do you get your information?
A digital signature would be in the drivers hand writing. It is a copy of your signature. -
And after multiple people post the regs that so clearly state the log must be printed every day and signed in the drivers handwriting, this is still argued? Ability to print on demand is for the current day's log, not the previous 7. Whether or not any specific DOT officer asks to see printed copies is irrelevant. Fully read the Eclipse web site and they say the same thing, logs must be hand signed, the signature option is for fax or email logs.Allan M Thanks this.
