It's pointless Autocar. You provide him with the link to the actual regulation on the FMCSA website and he asks where you get your information?

They will find out the hard way when they get an officer who knows the regs and sticks to the book. BigBadBill once got a ticket for not having all logs printed off up to the previous day when asked for them at the scales. It's considered "not current" regardless if your computer is current, not printed off - not current. This after having been given time to print off previous days logs at other times when scales asked him to, he was under the impression they didn't have to be printed... So easy to avoid this ding on a record takes about 2 or 3 minutes to print.

Wait a minute, let me look up that regulation, you know the one, "DOT MUST give you 15 minutes to catch up your logbook"? Everybody 'knows' that's the law, right? :biggrin_2559:

That is not "double brokering". When one broker assigns a load to one carrier and that carrier transports that load on one of their own trucks, whether owned or leased, that is not double brokering.

I am not reading anything between the lines. My info comes from both the FMCSA and our Compliance Department, which got nailed for these electronic signatures. I'll believe them long before I believe your orientation instructor. Read the reg, it does not say a copy of the driver's signature.
It's your butt, not mine, so do what you wish. But, I will continue to post the reg to counter false information and rumors that are spread.

Yea, that rumor has been around since Jesus Christ hauled dead fish for the Egyptians.

There you go again, mixing information. Not sure where you get an orientation instructor but hey mix up all you want, this is getting way out of hand.
I know what I read and this thread is not the place for regs.
When I went thru orientation here, they didn't have eclipse logs or digital signatures. Or sign on bonus. Heck I had to pay for my eclipse log and now Mercer pays for it. But they do not remembuse if purchased before they started using it.

Reference to the orientation instructor, or guy, comes from post #1283, on page 129, of this thread. Whenever false information is spread, it is time to break out the regs to get the proper information out, to keep people from getting nailed for stupid crap, that could be avoided.
We have alot of drivers using DDL and they were using electronic signatures, until a few years ago, when LS put a stop to it, after getting nailed in a log audit, by DOT.
