LOL, I wonder what side of the argument I was on? I hope the new side or I'm about to eat crow. LOL
Usually not, although stranger things have happened. So it's the first. You will be empty on the 3rd and see a load for that day that you want. You commit to said load. There is let's say the #1 guy sitting in chitown waiting for a load. Most likely he wants a load on the first and doesn't want to sit till the 3rd. He will get the call about the load but most likely pass as its too far out. So after he passes you can get it. That's way over simplified but we have gone into a lot more detail either in this thread or one of the branches. Hope that helps.
And if it was one of the others we (someone of the ambitious nature) should find it and move it here

No disrespect but I don't think you've read it all the way through. My advice is start from 1/1/15 and start reading just to get ahead of the curve. But most of the basic questions have been asked years prior and mercer hasn't changed much from 2012-2016Truckin_Texas91411 and CJndaTruck Thank this.

Well, I finally made the decision to jump on board with Mercer. I'll be at orientation on the 15th of February. I'm kinda nervous and excited at the same time. Thanks to all who have posted on here to help me make this decision.

Congrats! You have made the first step to an easier life. LOL.
OK maybe not all that but still a great choice. Just be patient, remember things are a little different here but once you accept that you have to operate a little different things get easy FAST! Hope you enjoy it here and look forward to seeing you around.cgsnipe Thanks this. -
So, I was talking to a driver yesterday where I picked up at. He was a company driver and told me something that I cannot possibly believe simply because the math doesn't add up. He, sounding 100% truthful, that they pay 90%. Now, they have customized conestogas, custom paint jobs on the truck, new trucks, insurance, fuel, still have to pull a profit, etc so there is absolutely no way a company driver is getting 90% of what the load pays. Out of curiosity, what could that be 90% of? Even 90% of the profit seems really high, so I can't figure out, as genuine as he came across, what the 90% is. I even asked him to make sure I heard him right.

I think he was confused.

Not possible. I could in theory see 90 percent of profit after all expenses, fuel truck payment insurance, everything. But I highly doubt it.

Just another full of crap driver. Was he a navy seal too?HalpinUout, spyder7723 and taxihacker66 Thank this.
