Ya it was a good novel back then seems like a lot of the characters have changed over the last year but it's good to see that skate spider and some of the others are still in the novel

I'm sure @CJndaTruck will get lucky and make a delivery to Hollywood,CA to a movie set and hopefully he talks to one of the higher ups in the production company and tell em we have the perfect script for a box office hit........

That's exactly what our safety advisor said a couple weeks ago. The guys already here with a mechanical engine can stay as long as they don't get a single log book violation.

Edit to clarify: they will still lease older trucks, as long as the eobr can be connected to the truck ecm. Just no more mechanical engines.

It took me a while. A week, probably and it was around 1200 when I started and in the 1280 range when I finished. But I'm an insomniac.

I was posted up at the Petro in Wheeler Ridge, CA last week while hauling short loads on the west coast. There were 2 quality trucks here (leased to Mercer) I just came back through after delivering tonight and they are both STILL HERE!!!

That is absolutely crazy! I talked to one guy who hauls a flat & he told me he hasn't seen anything he wants 2 pull. Doesn't want to tarp/doesn't want to go where it snows/it's all 2 heavy/the list goes on!!!

Maybe it's me, but I would NEVER sit at a truck stop longer than absolutely necessary. People wonder why some of the quality guys aren't making it here. This is a real good example.

I just told my buddy earlier that sometimes you have to take off the "employee hat" and put on the " CEO hat". I'm on a tarped load right now going to TN I picked up in OH. Did I want it?? Of course not its freezing up here. But guess what, I needed to get to TN to get me to my load heading to the house so either, sit, dh 700 miles to my Florida load or take this load which still pays the truck $900 after fuel. But even if I wasn't going home I don't sit at a truck stop if it's money on the table. I'll suck it up and tarp or ride to bad weather if I have too

1 day or two weeks. It doesn't matter. It's your money, your life and your business. I remember my first post. All I could do was thank those here.

. Lol ok I gotta let this go.

It's why some fail. But that doesn't mean take every load! The 1.50 load I still say hell no! But that's me. If that 1.50 load will keep you from going bankrupt? OK I understand. The $1 load? You are the problem. Most that will take that are Quality guys ( sorry but true ). They come from a place I was. .90¢ plus FSC. At the time it was about .38¢ a mile for FSC SO$1.28 or so a mile. We had a good fuel discount (slightly better than here but you.couldnt see everywhere. Just the area you needed fuel again. Had to learn how to trick that system just like you have to learn the Mercer way)

Anyway, if you haven't paid off your truck then you better read. If you have then you better read. If you want to pay it off, READ!

I'm sure someone can go back and find my first post. I'm pretty sure one of my first post was thanking this thread for answering all my questions without me asking them and I was on my way to orientation.

I'm fairly sure that I was convinced to go flat vrs van shortly after that. 2 of the guys that convinced me of that I personally thought where pricks at first. Now? Still pricks (but so am I) yet right pricks. And they have been since day one.

I'll stop my book. But you all want answers that many of us have answered already. You want to be an OO but not do the work. You think you can go from no experiance (like I did) to knowing it all in a week (ok might nought be fair there).

We have said a hundred times that there is no secret here. It has been explained 20 times how to make it here. There is even a thread of how to fail here. If you folks can't take the time to read then you should already know what path you are on.

Sorry all. Give me some time at home and hear me roar. Met a couple of great Mercer drivers today. All here longer than me. All steps (I'm flat) but only one didn't get out of his truck and socialize with us. His number was close (but older) than mine. I wonder which one was in Phoenix without a load?
