Correct. J.J.Keller device can monitor the same things, it all comes from the ECM. Customer (Mercer) decides what services they with to pay for. Mercer traditionally meets the DOT requirements and requires only that level of compliance.

That's easy, they are the ones that answer the phone with dispatch instead of mercer

    Yep
You are a little off with a couple of things. The re s not as much calling empty when not as you think. It see m s that way when folks have prebooked loads. It ain't as sinister as many think. It seems to be more of a thought when have not been here long. After a while you learn how to get it done and not let all that bother you, the new phone app with the tracking will nip the rest in the bud

I use auto socks. They are $226.00 a pair for any size. I called auto sock and got 2 sets for my tracor (I run super singles) I also got 2 sets for the trailer.
PS. If you get them at a truck stop you will get hammered for tax.

They do work!! Went to a jobsite in December and they were a huge help getting up an snowpacked hill to the crane. I think I was the only one that day to get unloaded.

Colorado Highway Parol tested these socks at Eisenhower Tunnel with trucks. The snow sick people were there too. I have the link below of the video. Its worth a watch.

Let me clarify a little better lol. i fully understand how you can pre-plan loads etc ect. Totally legit and I do it myself.

    EXPAMPLE
4 trucks show up 1 hour apart for a crane Appt. The last truck (who might not even be at the site yet) calls in empty before they even get there....or calls in empty while waiting in line. In this example none of the trucks have a pre planned load (none were available). They must look for a load on the board.

The driver first to unload commits to a load he finds. He did not get the load. He lost the load to the driver that ninjaed the load by lying about being empty.

If nobody catches the finesse he just pulled then more than likely he would get the first load over the other 3 guys.
That's if nobody had preplanned or no available loads to book at that time.
