no, the problem is not enough revenue being made to pay for this stuff and take home a respectable owner operater paycheck. and im sorry but 7-8 hundred a week clear is driver pay all day not owner operater money. If too many of yas are setteling for this kind of money here maybe thats the problem. and just because mercer lets you pick and choose your own loads here lets cut the crap about learning this system, ok you dont have to have a phd to learn this system. 75% of crap is crap, lots of loads to no where and hardly any to anywhere decent. and lets not forget of course the tons of deadhead miles your going to have if you do want a load to somewhere decent. what you people talk about on here is very misleading, i used this sight as one of my decisions to come here and like ive said in the past highly disappointed. either some of yas on here dont want to be home, wives have money or do this just for something to do but im sorry the money here so far is not impressive. and this is coming from someone who knows a four digit truck that was here 9 years ago and he cant believe what this has become.the only way ive seen to make money here so far is to move to ohio or indianna and sorry mercer thats not going to happen, and oh ya one more thing for a company thats been around for so long you would think they would have a little more going on as far as a one on one relationship with shippers, so far from what ive pulled here its all brokered or third party logistic crap that someone else already had thier hands into skimming the cream off the top. well fyi people anyone with a 750 thousand dollar liability insurance plan can go after those loads if you played it right. and further more fuel has gone up 30-50 cents a gallon since the first of the year isnt anyone of yas noticing that mercers rates are for the most part staggnant. wheres the fuel surcharge? im not here to bash anyone these people arent any worse than the next place, my point is what a let down thats all this go mercer ,nose in the air attitude is a joke if this is what there is to offer and when someone gets on here and tells it like it is so the next guy doesnt come here and be let down right away its he dont know what hes doing, hes a crybaby, he cant figure out this oh so hard system, please this place seems more like a big club than a place to support your family. hey i like to bbq, and buy chrome, and go to truck shows, and get free hats and jackets too but a respectable paycheck is first and foremost

Usually when someone bash a company, there no longer there. Its just the opposite here, people are bashing a company and still working there.

if you have figured out how to charge $4/mi when everyone else will run it for $1.75 then you have solved all the problems with trucking and im coming to work with you. the whole #### industry has been.on a downhill slide the last 8-10 yrs., or more depending on who you ask. i have been.in since the early 90's so i cant comment on the 70's and 80's.

mercer does go a long ways to compensating for the failings of the industry by at least treating us like professionals. the old timers are still around because its comfortable and the new guys who stick around is because most of.us have worked for.enough companies that not.only sucked but treated us like comete dirt balls not competant to manage our own checking accounts. i honestly dont think there is anywhere better to go and thats a sad thought.

well see. i do more than a 700 to 800 check. and i guess living near savannah,ga i am in a ecent area. like i posted before, i dont look for loads into your area of scranton. in fact i can only remember once in the past 2 years even traveling thru scranton . and it was a couple months ago on the way from ct. to waynesboro,ga. spent the night at the petro.

you may be in one of those areas where you have to take a short one to get back in the freight lanes , stay out a while , and do the same to leave out. scranton might be a hard area to get home often, because if ya do you would more alikely run the northeast a lot.

I 100% agree i really dont think it would be either im just a little disapointed in the revenue being made so far and actually things havent ben that bad finding loads lately i will say that. its just man after you burn up the advance, and they take what they need to take theres not much left at least thats my personal experience, maybe others not so much. i came here to lose some overhead and it seems like i gained more
