I'd like to piggyback of this.
Although I don't condone the crying of grown men about a job they chose to do.
However, when you've been misinformed about operations at a company then YES I will voice my opinion an leave it at that.
I don't blame mercer for any of my issues,
Do I feel I was lied to? You darn right!
You live in Texas, I know it's cutthroat there no matter who you pull for, but I live in the southeast. Flatbedding was built off the southeast. As I've said before we can go back an forth all day long about a guy not being able to understand or learn a system here...that's BS to me. There should be no reason you have mercer drivers living in states like Al,Ms,Ga and they are having to deadhead 200-400 miles to find loads. What's crazy is you have guys here excited that they are getting 1.60 loads an having to deadhead to go get it at that!!! Lol. I don't get it.
The load board is FULL of filler loads or what I call "backhauls" ...,,,not even worth turning a key for.
Prime example. I show up to shipper today an load along side a independent.
    Same destination. Same load.
    My load pays 1150.
    His load pays 1625.
No deadhead pay no dentention pay
    Strictly line haul plus f/s
But the loads aren't Double brokered here according to some of the guys here.

And before anybody attacks me an says u can't believe everything a driver says,,,I went the extra mile an asked him to show it to me on paper. He pulled his phone out brought the load conformation sheet up an bam there it is in black an white. 475 more than what I was paid. For the same exact load an same destination.

Was his TTT? Or was he showing you an "all in" quote? If he is showing you something from a load board or the star it's before everyone gets their cut. I wasn't there and don't know so I'm not trying to get in this discussion. I'm just asking a question.

Not sticking up for anyone here, if you take 75% of 1625 you get 1218.75. That's 68.75 more than what you got, it's nearly the same "gross" money.

Its apples to oranges, you weren't lied to, you are stuck in yourown authority mode, its understandable. But again you are in a frame of mind of how you want things to be vs working within the parameters of the system, but on that load you quoted at 75 per cent it. Virtually the same money, so what's the problem???,

So who lied to you? Everyone in this thread had stated multiple times that in order to succeed here at mercer it takes a willingness to put in the time and effort to learn the nuances of the system. No one succeeds straight out of the gate.

And no, flat bed was not built in the south east. It was built in the industrial hub of the great lakes region back when America still made quality products.

He says there is no system and tubs no nuances. A man that knows everything already can't learn, since he knows it all already.

If you have your own authority the rate confirmation sheet only states what goes to the truck. He showed me a rate confirmation sheet.

    Rate con means TTT
I don't know how it works for lease guys or company drivers but if u are independent the rate con states what you will receive

Exactly. None of us with our authority said we gross more money at mercer. We've all said that when you take everything in consideration, the big fuel discounts, being paid within an hour or two of unloading, no more ifta tax or reporting, no more 10 to 15 thousand dollars a year being spent on trucking insurance, no more drug consortium and collection costs, big tire discounts. Etc etc etc. At the end of the day our net is close enough and our workload being cut in half, that we are happier here than we were on our own.
