He usually does. Seems they had a quick meeting this morning and he didn't get a chance. It was no big deal looking back at it. If I would have got a second call I would be upset.

Ha! Hubby pulled truck and trailer in here one very dry weekend. Sunday morning, just before he had to leave, the sky opened up and all hail broke loose. He wasn't on the driveway, even though I had suggested he get up on it the night before. He never sank, never got stuck; but, he broke traction and couldn't regain it. Cost us $350 cash to get towed up the driveway and onto solid gravel, whopping 300 feet. He doesn't park the trailer here if it looks like rain anymore. I have 18" ruts where the garbage folks got stuck getting to the dumpster. They had to get towed out, too. But that wasn't my dime.(They should have known better...they've been stuck here before.)

Ha at the garbage truck. $350 sucks, I know that's about the going rate for a wrecker to even show up, but the guys up the road from me cut o/o a pretty good break. I guess they get it on the back end from the megas. I stopped parking my trailer at the house if it's wet as well, though. Now, it can rain once I'm there, no issues leaving coming out of my barn, it's all driveway, but I have to go uphill across the grass to set up to back into the barn to begin with. If it's wet when I get there, I just drop the trailer at the mom/pop truckstop at the end of the road.

This thread has been pretty informative and appreciate you guys sharing your knowledge. I do have a couple questions though that I couldn't find clear answers on.

How picky is the inspection? I keep mine in good mechanical order and do what I can to keep it looking neat, but my doors will need to be painted soon (typical KW peeling around corners). They arent bad and look fine from 10 feet away. Are they really particular on stuff like that?

Also, how is everyone liking the elogs (or disliking)?

I'm looking around at different things to do after harvest if hopper work/rates don't pick up. I've done about a year's worth of flatbed before so I might be rusty but I have most of the basics.
