Hey y'all, just throwing this out here for the owner of my truck. He is currently searching for a driver for his other rig (an '07 Pete 379 flattop). if anyone knows of someone looking for a job, where he/she will be pretty much free to run the truck how they like (within reason, of course), shoot me a PM and I'll pass the info along.
Thanks.

Questions for you Mercer fellers. I think I read in this thread that there is a good Mexican restaurant close to the yard, is that true?
2nd: if so, is there anywhere close for a non Mercer truck (since I'm not leased on there...yet) to park for the night & go eat?
My wife & I will probably be shutting down in Louisville. Thanks -
Just curious -
CJndaTruck, I've seen you use the term " 4 digit midget " a few times referring to Mercer trucks with a 4 digit number. The term "midget" is considered a pejorative term indicating unusually short stature. I'm a 4 digit truck so, where am I on your "midget" list? I'm on the million mile board in Louisville and over this because I probably had close to a million miles with Mercer before this program was started. I'm curious as to where I and the other 4 digit trucks are "short in stature"? Granted, I've never been in the top ten or even close but that is by my choice.
Not trying to pick a fight but would you please explain the "4 digit midget" moniker you've labeled on me?
Also, 4 digit number and a custom sleeper = 2 strikes -
TBH I have succeeded here because several of you/those with 4 diget numbers gave me some great advice and i think I listened. When at a truck stop or customer I always gravitate towards you and seek out advice and the reason I love it here is that I always get sound advice on how I can improve.
So please forgive me if I offended you or anyone else. I never intended to I was just using a term that was started way before I came along. And I will refrain from using it in the future. Also thank you for guiding those of us that don't have a million miles here at Mercer. It will take me over 10 years here to reach that milestone and I can't wait to be able to claim that.
Sorry to offend you.CasanovaCruiser Thanks this. -
It is just friendly teasing and banter. You call me a zipcode truck, i call you a 4 digit midget. But when your hood is up im over there with my tool box to help, just as you are when it's my truck that decided it didn't want to work today.
Razorwyr, CJndaTruck and RStewart Thank this. -
I may be waaaaaay off base here, but I always assumed that the term was a variation of one used during the Vietnam war. A "double digit midget " was a term used to denote soldiers that had been around, seen alot of action, and had less than 100 days left until they shipped out heading for home.
Like I said, I may be off on the intended usage here at Mercer, but I always thought it was a term of respect.A21CAV and CJndaTruck Thank this. -
