I'm in NM on my way to the house via CA. I should probably be staying out after just taking 11 days off but my sons Bday is next week. If you have been running that whole time (minus golf trips of course) you do need to get home. I'm not going to be home long, need to make a final push for the year while rates are relatively high. Week max.

Well I'm not sure about that long. I am having all the cabnets replaced in my truck mid sept. Have a vacation planned in Oct. So for me a push might be 2 weeks of hard running out of 3 for the next couple of months. Then I have to decide if I want this semi dedicated run for the winter that will keep me off the west coast or not.

This is my first year here. I started the first week of November. When do rates usually drop?

I've been working my normal amount I guess, 2000 miles or less a week for the most part, my golf outings, and visiting friends. Either way, I was going to my parents house most of the time I took time off this summer because my kids were there, I havent been to my house, thus haven't cut my grass since mid June. I assume it's 3 feet tall or more right now with all of the rain we've gotten down south the last few weeks

    CJndaTruck and 77fib77 Thank this.

This is encouraging. You didn't notice a drop in rates last year from Dec to Feb?

I dunno, middle of September or so. When did we start #####ing about it last year? This year will likely be sometime in the next month though as business start holding off as much as they can before the election.

    77fib77 Thanks this.

You just need to have a couple abandoned cars in the front lawn with an engine hanging from a tree limb. Of course I'm just kidding.

    RStewart and Razorwyr Thank this.

I made money in the winter I also sat most of December. I did see the rates climb in mid march. loads became more plentiful. To the point were you need to book a couple of days ahead.

I've noticed that waiting does help when trying to get hubby back out of OK. (Currently van, but switching to FB as soon as they have a trailer for him.) And looking at FB, it seems to be the same thing. Companies wait till they are more sure of their shipping date before posting the loads.

    RStewart Thanks this.
