With that area you will be great. PA has some OK areas and a few great loads. But all and all I would avoid it starting out here. (Or be stubborn like me and learn the good spots)
I just bought those for my trailer. 8@$333 for the tires I think. Bought them in IN and the shop had a special for 8 tires. They applied it towards install as I used the national acct.
Dude can build a table on his deck but....
You should have two capped wires near your pigtail area. Open your dash and get the numbers off the switch wire. Match it to the tag on the capped wires. You should not have to run any wires in the truck itself.Razorwyr Thanks this. -
When I give an opinion on equipment, take it with a grain of salt. All my equipment was outdated, I was very slow to update.
For years I had troopers opening my drivers door to see if I had a seat belt on cause most trucks had shoulder belts also.77fib77, Allan M, spyder7723 and 1 other person Thank this. -
So I've been going through some of the threads in the flatbed section on TTR & I have a question for you guys about chains.
There was some discussion about 5/16 vs 3/8 & G70 vs G100 & so on. Since you guys are out there doing what I would be doing I would like to know what chains you guys use. -
I had 6 5/16 G70 used them 95% of the time, light and easy to work with. I also had 6 3/8 only used them when I needed to.
I think for flatbed work I would go with 12 5/16 G70 chains
for stepdeck work I would get 6 5/16 and 6 3/8
G70 is all you need for general flatbed/step work anything greater than G70 is for the guys that make big big bucks.RStewart Thanks this. -
I carry 10 5/16ths grade 70 and 2 3/8ths grade 70. The ONLY reason i got the 2 heavier 3/8ths is cause i needed 2 more for a specific load and the place i stopped at to buy them didn't carry 5/16ths.
In theory using 5/16ths grade 70 means i have to use 1 extra chain on a real heavy piece low a 40k lb coil. In practice tho, i will be throwing a couple extra chains on that coil anyway and it doesn't matter if i had 1/2 inch chain, it's getting extras. -
Thanks guys. I'm with the whole throw a couple extra on if it needs it or just to make me feel better about it. I don't think anyone has ever lost an oversecured load. Lol.
