So an argument without name calling & insults is a discussion correct? Just want clarification so I don't get banned for having a discussion on a discussion forum.

Yea, we are just trying to have a discussion about a great company (Mercer), trying to educate guys on how to make a little money. and some clown comes along and says what a low down lying cheating company Mercer is.

We know this is not true cus, together, the ones trying to help probably have 75 years here @ Mercer. I had 27 myself

Those that want to come on this thread and bash Mercer are going to lose the fight. Even if they were leased to Mercer and failed. They still lose the argument.

They failed, for one reason or another. Mercer did not fail them, Mercer did not lie and cheat them.

Listen to these guys trying to help you. They are not recruiters. They own one truck, they pick their loads, sleep in the sleeper for weeks at a time. and go home to a family.

Can a new driver get decent paying loads at mercer starting out without understanding the complicated board system? Can you not just call an agent and get a load?

It's really not that complicated. First person to empty out has first right of refusal on loads they are matched to. You and your coordinator decide together what you want to match to. You can commit to loads you see that you aren't matched to and that will automatically put you in order of empty time. If you aren't matched to it, per what you and your coordinator set, then neither your coordinator nor the agent will see you matched to it unless you commit, but if you give your coordinator the load number he can do it that way. All the complicated things you will learn as you go, but the board in general isn't bias to anyone. It's simply first empty, first offered.

The board system isn't that complicated. At first glance is simple first empty first offered. It's the nuances that take a while to fully grasp. I started making money with my first load after orientation. So yes a new guy can make money. Old guys are not given preference. And ya you can call am agent and say you want a load, but that load must still run the board.

Man this thread is awful quiet.

Kinda sucks. When I was reading through the whole thing there was always something new to read. Now I'm caught up & some key people aren't here & it's almost died.

I agree. I go here at least once a day and in the past have found this thread very helpful since we are very new to Mercer.
