If it's husband and wife you can do great. If you want to run super solo and try to provide 2 families incomes, it won't happen

My knowledge is outdated "I"m retired" But I stand by that outdated knowledge. It would be very very hard to support 2 families with one truck at Mercer. trying to run super solo

Mercer does have true team freight, but it's just a load that falls in your lap every now and then.

 

Brutal no sugar coating truth...if a guy can't write a check for 5k he has no business running a truck. Wait til you can make the down payment plus have another 10 set aside.

 

How many O/O do you know that were able to save in an economy similar to this one and put the money down?? It's been my personal experience that every O/O that has told me that, are usually the ones who inherited a truck from their family members and only had to put in sweat equity or they live in very cheap ares of the country so it was super easy to save...

 

What are you gonna do if the truck breaks down on the first load? Mercer won't give you 2,000 for a new clutch lol

 

Also Just To say. I Put 10,000 down on mine PLUS has money in bank.. Which went fast due o break downs

 

Bottom line if a person lives pay check to pay check now and has no room to save in this economy what makes you think they can make Truck and trailer payments insurance payments + repair bills and still have plenty to send home in this economy and if something goes wrong like what just happened to me and they can't work for 2 months look out because it was costing me just over 2,500 a month for the Truck and trailed to sit in my yard with no income. Sorry if it sounds like I'm chewing you out I am not just giving you the facts
If you are going to bet the farm on a new Business make sure the odds are in your favor not the house

 

The places I'm looking at buying from offer 1 yr powertrain warranties... I get what u guys are saying and I appreciate it.. I can assure you, I'm not going g through this with rose colored glasses on...

 

How long did it take you to save, and how long before it needed the first repairs??
