Bolt on or weld. The bolt on its a few more dollars than the weld on. I went with the bolt on for simplicity. But as far as mercer is concerned why would you even tell them? They also wouldn't care if it came up. Who ever told you they wouldn't let you either didn't know what he was talking about, or didn't understand what you were asking.

Did you tell him you were adding a lift axle? That would require serious work. But adding a lift axle kit to an existing axle is a simple process.

Verify that you have a hendrickson suspension (you almost certainly have the identical hendrickson i do) and get the serial number off the tag. It's on the right suspension arm. Should be a model number and a weight rating. 23k lbs and is an intraxx model. Call hendrickson and ask them to email you some info on the lift axle kits.

You drive over blocks first then dump air. Then shut valve. Then ratchet up. Then re - air.

You need a 4 x 4 and buy a circular saw at harbor freight, home depot, Lowe's. Hammer and big roofing nails with a screw shaft. Go three wide on the wood and then make a step/ramp out of it.

    Just thinking.

I would want the whole trailer to lift up on the wood at the first axle.

Yay....my truck blew up last night.... @TruckerPete1990 is going to have a good week. KW said they won't have a good time estimate until they open it up and look at it to see exactly what broke and the extent of the damage on Tuesday or Wednesday, but from the loud knocking sound, minimum 10 days.
