It is funny how many of us say we wish we had made the move sooner. If you can get back to L'ville next weekend you should. The way we are treated during the truckshow will amaze you (and make you gain 10lbs).

They used ceramic plungers. When they come apart, so does the engine.

@CJndaTruck just call me Mr. Buzzkill. :D The reason I'm not going to a flatbed company first is because I'm currently with a good company and making good money...for a company driver. I'm not one to jump around unnecessarily, plus, my brother runs for a small fb company here in Ill&annoyed and when I'm in town and he's loading nearby I give him a hand securing and tarping, so I'm getting a handle on that.

I was leaning towards a Detroit, I've driven DD15s and never had a problem with them, my brother drives an old pete with an S60 and he loves it. I actually kinda prefer Freightshakers and wanted a pre-DEF truck because I can't afford to buy new yet and wanted to avoid early DEF systems. As far as hometime, I prefer staying out a couple weeks and taking an extended hometime, I've got no one to take care of but me. Ultimately I plan on going to flats and bouncing around WI, IL, IN, OH and KY. Zero interest in anything east of I81 and north of I66, or west of I25.

The egr engines from 03 to 06 were almost as bad as the early dpf engines. Since you are already looking at trucks ten years old, which won't be able to be bank financed, might as well look just a little older and get one with no emissions.

I was planning on being there but the $'s are sending me in a different direction next week. Always next year, lol.

@DezTrucking My husband and I were really relieved to read your two week update. That is exactly what we hope for as well (more revenue and less miles)--well who wouldn't want that lol? We currently work very hard and drive an average of 12,000 miles a month--but we are not earning nearly enough money. We are looking forward to starting with Mercer! Hopefully we will be ready by the middle of May. We're really happy for you :)

I'm debating on whether to come up for the truck show or not. My kids will be back in school, so I might.
