So I'm having my first issue with my truck. 3 days ago I went to start it and it just cranked and cranked. It has always started right up (even when it was -28° out). I knew instantly it was not getting fuel. Filter was basically dry. I prime the engine and it starts right up. I look at filter and it's filling up to normal level. I shrug and go about my day. Next morning same issue however later in the day it's happening faster (truck off for 2 hours and it needs to be primed). Now as soon as I start it it runs fine. I can't find any leaks, ground is dry under truck. It's like all the fuel drains back into the tank. Any ideas?

If you have a Davco filter unit, there is a check valve screwed into the base at the inlet line. Trash from the tank can sometimes make them stick open and fuel will drain back.
To check it, run the truck until the fuel level in the see through bowl is where it normally is. Shut off the truck and loosen the cap on top of the filter housing. If the check valve is leaking by, the fuel level will slowly drop over time.CJndaTruck Thanks this. -
