So I'm having my first issue with my truck. 3 days ago I went to start it and it just cranked and cranked. It has always started right up (even when it was -28° out). I knew instantly it was not getting fuel. Filter was basically dry. I prime the engine and it starts right up. I look at filter and it's filling up to normal level. I shrug and go about my day. Next morning same issue however later in the day it's happening faster (truck off for 2 hours and it needs to be primed). Now as soon as I start it it runs fine. I can't find any leaks, ground is dry under truck. It's like all the fuel drains back into the tank. Any ideas?

I JUST had this issue. Thought i was sucking air somewhere causing it to lose prime when shut off. Spent an entire day (wednesday) trying to find a pin hole in my fuel lines. Put a new fuel filter on it and solved the issue. I talked myself past my number 1 rule with trouble shooting a truck. Start with the simple cheap stuff. So put new fuel filters on it and see what happens.

Yeah I kinda checked the filters as I recently had them all changed. But I'll actually open them all up and replace all the o rings and stuff. Good idea, thanks.

If you have a Davco filter unit, there is a check valve screwed into the base at the inlet line. Trash from the tank can sometimes make them stick open and fuel will drain back.

To check it, run the truck until the fuel level in the see through bowl is where it normally is. Shut off the truck and loosen the cap on top of the filter housing. If the check valve is leaking by, the fuel level will slowly drop over time.

. Don't use glue thru the floor. Use a threaded male adapter thru the floor and a threaded female adapter underneath. Will hold in place . Then clamp vent hose to it. If it requires a drain line do the smaller line same way. This method word for running inverter wires or anything else into sleeper area. On wires and such , seal with expanding foam.

This would be the fastest, cleanest install.

think its closer to 4inch ill have to double check. i was thinking of just reducing the size down to fit the hole as it goes. The window piece it comes with won't work well with my style windows.

Just messured its about 3 1/2 inches so ill prob go to lowes and grab some supply and do it lol
