I have great news :). We have been accepted by Mercer and will go to orientation on Monday the 10th. Hubby goes for his drug test tomorrow. We're really excited and can't wait to join you all.

If it's not too late, use petes truck number as the referral. With the new baby in sure he wouldn't mind a few hundred to help offset diapers and formula. And it will cost you nothing.

We had put *** as our referral (upon his request--an agent in Canada). But maybe we can give them Pete's name and truck number as it is sort of weird to list an agent as a referral.

Do you think they'll allow me to attend orientation with my husband? I will be doing all of his paperwork and his dispatch and think it would be very beneficial for us if I were to attend orientation with him. We travel together. I will eventually drive with him (super single and not team) once I get my CDL.

Yes! Go and be part of the team. They encourage it, like I said it's a lot more like family then work.

Thanks CJ LOL I think I'm even more excited than my hubby. We're hard workers, so I have confidence that we'll do well. (Also, I have experience doing dispatch while he was at Landstar and I also did independent dispatch for a few drivers for a couple of years--so I know that will help us as well.)

It will help. Just keep in mind that our lanes are a little different then LS. We have many of the same customers and even agents. But we also have different ones with different lanes. The first thing I always recommend is to study the board. It's always changing, I still study it most weekends to look for possible hot spots or to see where rates are rising or falling.
