Well, it's OFFICIAL! I'll be in Louisville on the 24th for orientation. Looks like in going to come show you guys that a door swinger can make money at a flatbed company. Lol.

I turned that truck in when my lease was up & bought an older (2011) truck. My monthly payment is what my weekly lease payment was. Lol. I'm only still swinging doors cause Mercer is making me do it for 6 months.

A lot of things can. Everything from a freight claim, to missing paperwork, to the customer is argueing the fright charges. Today is only Wednesday, still under 48 hours. It's probably gonna hit the bank tonight and if it doesn't id call them first thing in the am. If truck pay doesn't resolve it to your satisfaction then get contractor relations involved.

I'm glad you are finally making the switch. Rumor has it that Mercer is building a new FB school. No idea how true it is but if I was you I would ask.

@TruckerPete1990 i just had an agent argue that the rate was wrong. Stated that the quoted rate had a layover charge in it. Mercer held back several hundred dollars for about 2 days but in the end I got my money. It was the agents error not mine.

BTW it's been said before but SCREENSHOT EVERY LOAD YOU TRY TO COMMIT TO. Hopefully it will never be needed but......

What are your thoughts on the FB school? Sounds to me the direction that will head is like a Mega/Trainer company deal, or similar to a Schneider choice, with inexperienced drivers taking any and every low rate load.

I have no issues with a good FB school. Read back and you will remember that went to a Mercer FB school. The most I had ever really done was throw a few straps over some PODS. So, I had no experience at all in FB. As far as becoming a mega/training company? I think (and I don't speak for) Mercer learned it's lesson with Quality. SNI can keep that wanna be owner operator deal. I feel Quality was a mistake and even though when it started here I argued for it because to me it was a better deal (in some ways but not a around) than the LP program I did years ago with the fact that your future was in your hands and not controlled by some mega. What I failed to realize was that most people who joined that program where idiots. Don't get me wrong, we have several still here from the Quality days who are doing fine. But I had to go back to my Mega days to remember that I, like the quality guys still here, where the 1% of the 1%. Now if some idiot wants to come here and hual $1.50 crap idk. I will sit back and watch them come and go I suppose. I can only run my truck.

But let's not confuse things. It's one thing to have no FB experience yet years of OO exp and another to come out of school, get conned into a LP program at Prime, SWIFT, SNI or wherever. The former only has a few hurdles to overcome and master. The latter has a whole industry AND business to learn. I wouldn't confuse nor compare the two. Full disclosure, looks like I'm about to own some SNI stock in a few minutes. If you are wondering, it's a trade NOT an investment. Lol. Darn $20.50 ish. Have to flip it quick.
