I mean until it breaks and we have to buy it, or something else, again.

Oh, I see. Well let's just hope that doesn't happen. Our other one lasted for 3-1/2 years without problems...

I was gotten onto for having blank trip info. I used to delete it once I was empty, so if I didn't have anything on my trailer it was blank. I was informed I have to write empty if I do that. No big deal, took them almost 2 years to say anything.

I'm going to call the agent tomorrow just to make sure, but as of right now they don't have the paperwork and the app says in blue arrive by 1500--so can we safely assume that there is no set appointment time and we can just show up before 3? We have no shipper contact info yet, so I can't call them to make an appointment. I guess I'll just call the agent in the morning and work it out with him. Good night everyone!

I was always told DOT doesn't care which inspection is logged & which one is flagged. I show a 15 min pre-trip insp & just flag my post-trip. Been doing it that way almost my entire career.

To flag it with the omnitracks would you just change the status to on duty and then immediately change it to driving (or simply to on duty and then start driving as it changes on its own once you start driving)? With an ELD I would imagine it would not be very believable as it can record every minute...paper logs could get away with that if it were for less than 8 minutes.

    RStewart Thanks this.

Most loads don't really have appt times. Usually if a load needs an appt for pickup it will be in the notes. It is most likely that it's a FCFS (first come first serve) customer or a customer that only ships a couple of loads a week. But yes, a call to the agent in the morning will clear up any doubt.

Yes, to flag it you just go to on duty & put in remarks & hit ok. Then change the status to whatever you are going to next. If you're flagging your pre trip then go straight to driving & take off.

So I would log on to omnitracs website and be able to download them? I will give it a try this weekend. Thank you.
