What exactly are you speaking of? And was that question addressed to anyone specific?

I was just being factual. To me it's not about being fast or slow. It's just while in accepted mode you can't do anything else. It depends on the market i am in as to how long before i come off the load, and what type commitment i get from agent. Sometimes it as simple as the load can't be dispatched til they have delivery address. Some agents i give longer some less.

Not clear who you are asking this of, but the load advance isn't set 50 per cent, it's a percentage and the fsc. It adds up to about 50 per cent. It was raised few years back when fuel spiked. It was left at that level. Which now ends up being quite a bit more than fuel costs. With the way the pay structure is here , it would greatly complicate things in my opinion , to go to a settlement deduction fuel method. But as to affect, there is none , as nothing has changed. It really wouldn't affect me, my settlements go on efs and i transfer to one of 6 accounts myself, mine ends up in same place.

It's not a percentage of the fuel surcharge either. I know it's not exactly 50%, though that's how Mercer explains it, but it's close. The FSC doesn't come anywhere near 50% of a load, much less high enough for a percentage of that to be about 50% of overall settlement.

Nevermind, I misread what you wrote...you said percent AND not percent OF. My bad

I haven't heard anything about that until now. They must not be fighting too hard. Then again, I rarely take 50%. I know there are different strategies to it, like adding up to like $3k or $5k then not taking it at all until you fall below $1k to avoid the charge of putting it on there. Some people take the full amount every load regardless. I, personally, usually take just enough for fuel for the load plus an extra tank so I don't think it would affect me much unless they drop it below 25%.

I take 50% all the time although I would be ok with them taking it right out of the settlement. Long as I get my money I'll be happy.

Yes you did. You have to remember i am pretty sharp with things like this, if not my Mickey mouse club membership would be revoked. For clarification on your advance , it basically consists of all the fuel surcharge on each load and a percentage of the linehaul, most times now it's totals to 50 per cent or close to that. As i said it was raised a while back when fuel spiked. I don't foresee a wholesale change, maybe just a return to prespike level of advance.

There hasn't been a fight about it at all. A question was asked, a few answers. That's about all.

What could be causing this? I'm not losing any coolant or oil. I haven't actually seen any smoke coming out of the exhaust. It definitely looks like there has been some, but I haven't seen it. Last week, I stopped for fuel, not there, 3 hours later it was. Everything seems to be normal outside of that white/blue dust on everything. It rained a couple of days later and washed it all off, and it didn't do it again until yesterday. I still have yet to see any smoke, all fluids are full (except I do have a power steering leak since the rebuild, but highly doubt that is causing it). I'm not going through any more DEF that I've noticed. The oil isn't milky. By all accounts it seems as though nothing is wrong, but that's not normal.
