What kind of truck? A friend has a KW T680 & KW shop is going to add extensions onto his 5th wheel so he can slide it more.

Well my coolant filter had a small leak. We still can't find the main leak. It's only when it's hot.

    RStewart Thanks this.

Cascadia. I wouldn't mind doing the frame side extension or relocate now just for the unbolt and place where needed and then replace the slide later.

Anyone with a drill can do that. Including all the guys working the lot in Louisville.

No. It's a specialty job. A magnetic drill is needed for proper alignment of the hole. Just a little sloppy and a cracked frame or fifth wheel movement is possible.

Yeah, Peterson in Louisville will do it for $600 installed is what they told me when I first got my truck....havent seen much of a need for it. Not enough loads ive missed out on to justify that in my opinion.

I may take you up on that, but my dreams may be shattered. Lol

I'm still trying to make sure the trailer I'm looking at is legal for Califonia. It's 48' 5" with a split. Still trying to get ahold of the people that would write the ticket.

If you say so. I've drilled many frames with just a good ol half inch drill. And many frame shops do the same.

A mag drill is nice for those pia spots to reach, but absolutely not required.

I'm looking at a step with an 8' upper deck. Fifth will need to be placed about 6-8 inches further back to clear the rear of the truck.
