Do you have an automatic transmission?

To new for this old man. Never seen anything like it on a truck, but it looks hydraulic with a bleeder.

    spyder7723 and HalpinUout Thank this.

If that is a covered zerk and not a bleeder, could it be a remote greaser for throw out bearing, clutch cross shafts, etc.

    HalpinUout Thanks this.

That's what i was thinking. When did they start putting hydraulic clutches in big trucks?

Thats completely unnecessary. Just adds one more thing to break.

Nothing wrong with hydraulic. One has mechanical which can fail & the other uses fluid. I'm surprised you're OK with a 10 speed or a 13 speed vs. a 5x4 or 6x4 since they added the air splitters & took away the extra stick.

Oscar the KW and thaistick Thank this.

They both have mechanical. The only difference is the hydraulic lessens the effort required to push the clutch peddle. Sure not identical parts but very similar. So in effect, you have the same things that can break or wear out, plus the hydraulic system.

Basically the only difference is instead of a steel rod that pushes against the clutch fork, you have a small hydraulic cylinder doing it.
