I carry a 4 drop, a 6' drop and 2 smoke tarps, and a coil tarp. That pretty much covers most loads. My 4' drop will make an 8' drop but only 16' long.
I can cover a complete load at 6' drop or my lower deck at 8' drop.
Probably should have another 4' drop with the double d's, then I could cover a complete load at 8' drop but the rates just ain't there for big tarp jobs.
I do tarp probably 1 out of 4 loads but not 8' drop.
I did that complete load at 4' drop two weeks ago for a lousy $50 cause my coodinator needed to downsize. Now I have a newbi coodinator but he's doing things my way and doing good.

If you are matched to a load and are #1, how in the hell does someone else get the load? That happened to me this morning, and nobody at Mercer can tell me why. FIFO my ###!!!!
-
I hear your pain. Happened to me last week.
If I pull the load board up on my laptop, then pull it up when I on a different computer, I will see more loads on one screen then the other. Even if I refresh, the screens don't match.
Then there's the issue about getting matched to a load. I see the load that I can haul, but am not matched to it. It can pass me by and I will never know it was there. -
Yap happen to my guy 3 times but someone else here said that could never happen!!!!rusty2222 Thanks this.

Someone else changed preferences that then put them up in front of you? not saying that's what happened, just thinking of a reason it could happen.
as for not being matched to loads you think you should be, your coordinator is putting in different preferences than your load search. need to give them a call and set different preferences -
My coordinator said sometimes that happens, I will keep an eye out for you to see what else comes up. He didn't seem to care, acted like it was no big deal. We will see how much they like it when I tell them to take me off the load I am supposed to pickup in the morning. I ain't gonna go sit in southeast Kansas until Tuesday of next week, the load I am on doesn't pay enough to bounce back home, so I guess I will stay home until next week.
rusty2222, BAYOU and volvodriver01 Thank this. -
It's not a big deal if you can sit in the office collecting a salary as the "driver" sits at the truck stop for an extra day.
It's just trucking
-
5 minutes before I was going to call in and dump the load back in their laps I got a load back out of there that will take me thru the house for the holiday weekend.
-
it's part of the industry, it will happen and continue to happen. just like trucks breaking down or getting held up in major traffic delays will happen, and continue to happen. snide comments about people who work in an office, or the reverse- " dumb truck driver" statements does what to change these facts? -
I'm not a firm believer in the FIFO policy.
