At home now. I took that oversize to Detroit, and grab a large tire load out to Indy for Mon. So I come by the house.
I'm going to take next week off and take my radiator out to be flushed. Also need to fix my generator. So gona play in my garage all week.

Anyone need couple used 24.5 steer tires cheap? Have 50% tread left.

I wish I was near. I could use those tires . Got 1 drive worn out. 2 steers would make nice pair for that location.
First I heard about going electronic. Is Mercer going with ober/elog ? Freight slow in general ? Just keeping current on Mercer. I might wanna get back to work sometime. Mercer is on my extremely short list of companies I am considering.

Last I heard there is nothing mandatory being put into effect at this time, but they were asking for volunteers in orientation, so it will only be a matter of time before all new contractors are forced to have it.

    Lone Ranger 13 Thanks this.

I wouldn't say that freight is slow, there seems to be an ample amount of it on the board in the areas that I run but the majority of it the rates are less than desireable. It pays to look ahead right now and book loads as far out as possible, otherwise you will sit to wait for a decent rate or haul cheap to keep moving.

lol, are you able to pick your own loads, turn down freight, or does the coordinator run your truck. just wondering since you have made the comment that the coordinator wont commit you to loads. is that the case since you drive for a contractor?

I can do it all. I tell the coordinator I want certain loads the next day, but I am never matched nor do I ever get the loads. The last few weeks the truck has barely moved. My old coordinator couldn't find much and I couldn't find much either. I even had trouble finding freight out of Louisville :biggrin_25523:. Getting stuck for 5 days near Baltimore gets old. Nothing but short hauls that stay in the area. Then Mercer lost my BOLs that I scanned and still haven't gotten paid.

I've been going to Ohio a lot, but there hasn't been much going out. I got a 3 stop load going to Lou, Paducah, then Nashville. There was another load going to Mississippi that paid more, but if I'm going to sit somewhere for the weekend, it's going to be at my home ;)

I'm going to see what happens over the next month or two, but if it doesn't pick up, I'm out of here.

My contractor went down to Mercer and got several of us to new coordinators. Some of the trucks are grossing $20k, one truck only got 1 load a week. That driver left for better pastures. I hope he doesn't step in anything :)
