I am a contract carrier for Mercer and they are, by far, the best!!! Honest, fair and the pay is fast and decent.

I'm doing much better since I don't rely on my coordinator and I started taking loads nobody else wants. North Dakota here I come from Tacoma, Washington :biggrin_255:

BTW, it's gorgeous here if it weren't for the people ;)

You must not pull for very many people the stuff you pull is the left over the lease drivers won't pull and I've never seen any of it pay what it should!

when they broker a load out they pay exactly the lowest amount possible they can to get the load covered. same as every brokerage firm. it's basic economics, as long as the load gets covered, it wasn't too low of a rate.

I pull mostly for Mercer...have for a long time...Like everything else, you have to be willing to take the bad with the good. I have pulled some less than standard loads, but I have pulled more good loads because of that. Like anything else in life, it is up to you to fail or succeed. If you stick out the bad and are determined to come out of your career with a smile then keep it real...what do all successful people have in common? Determination and focus. People like democracy, consistency and security, so if you offer that to them then you will more than likely be successful and won't have to worry about getting the left overs all the time. Keep the "shiney side out".

LOL.....I am a negotiation king I make brokers think I'm the only truck/guy for the job I have NEVER got a dollar more than I was offered in the first place. Almost every time I post my truck you can beat TQL and mercer are going to call and never end up taking them, I've even called on a load that just got a call about and said I was offered more money a min ago they said "Who did you talk to because we all see the same price" so you tell me!!

bayou, have you ever considered that just maybe your wonderful positive attitude might have something to do with meter, or any other brokerage firm, being unwilling to negotiate on rates with you? Just a thought
