I ended up in a hotel the whole time. It started as a weekend thing, then end of the week and on and on.
Problem was Detroit had never seen the codes/problems I was having. So the techs and engineers were at a loss. As of Friday they are still tearing every piece that came off my truck trying to figure out what happened besides an injector went bad. Oh 188k on the odometer. Sorry.
I understand that point, it was one of the many points that swayed me to come here over LS. I don’t know if you are relying on your coordinator for loads or working the board. If you depend on your coordinator that’s fine. Some coordinators make better dispatchers then others do. If you are learning the board, stick with it. You tend to get better rates. But either way is fine as long as it works for you. I would suggest you make some relationships with our agents. It will help you a lot.

That' what fully Mercerized me. I mean, I had a sip of the Kool-Aid, but when I went down all last March while the shop fought with Cummins to do the rebuild and I was financially worry free even with having taken an unexpected month off I decided it was Blue Kool-Aid for me.

Bruce oakley looks good but I hear they have a forced dispatch kinda mentaility, and I've heard landstar has a more screw the driver mentaility. All the reason more mercer looks like the better fit. Although Bruce oakley would start me out right at 1.57 loaded and 1.37 empty..

There are very few differences between mercer and landstar. 2 big ones.

There agents can give the load to whomever they want, this allows you to prove your self to agents to get ahead of the pack. Here it goes by a first empty first offered system.

The other big difference is the big corporate atmosphere at landstar. unfortunately Mercer is heading that same way.

I got mine from the Oklahoma DMV website. It cost me $25 and it never said anything about not for hire signs. I was bobtail so I don't think I needed them. Anyway, regardless if it's $25 or $75, that's what you need to move the truck from company to company.
